Exactly! He should have never caved in to the politically correct crowd. He should have said: “Yeah, I said it. It was a poor choice of words but I said it. Deal with it.”

He probably would have still been fired but he could have gone out with his dignity. Am I right or wrong?

Yes, he would have gone out with dignity and maybe even have followers. Instead he proclamed his words as “racist”. His statement could have easily been explained otherwise. He caved. And he caved very easily.

You are right. While I wouldn't call any basketball team A bunch of" tight curled afro wearing prostitutes" it was hardly anything more than as you said a poor choice of words.

The fact that Imus caved so badly in my opinion makes him nothing more than a big mouthed white liberal COWARD.

He got what deserved, not because of what he said but because he acted like he did something wrong.

You’re absolutely right. He just should have said “it was a joke”. They may or may not have fired him. But the cowering to a race baiter like Sharpton was embarrassing. And NOT the Don Imus I’ve been familiar with for years. He got some bad advice on this one.
