Muslims will not waver over veils

Britain's Muslim community overwhelmingly believes that women should be allowed to wear the veil, despite fears that it presents a barrier to integration, a study has found.

Muslims believe women should be free to wear veils

Almost nine in 10 Muslims think that any government moves to ban the veil would hurt social cohesion.

Schools already have the power to ask pupils to remove the niqab - which covers the entire face apart from a slit for the eyes - to improve safety, security and learning.

There have been calls for a wider debate on whether it is appropriate for the full veil to be worn in public at all. But a Gallup Poll to be published this week found most Muslims firm in the belief that Islamic women should be free to wear it.

While 55 per cent of all those polled thought that removing the veil was vital for integration, only 13 per cent of Muslims agreed.

Instead, they thought that the Government needed to change its economic and political policies toward Islamic countries and show greater respect to Islam.

The poll found that the Muslim community was largely willing to see fuller integration and trusted major British institutions more than the typical member of the public did.

Only one in four Muslims wanted to live in a neighbourhood comprised solely of people who shared their religious or ethnic backgrounds. They also claimed a stronger sense of identifying with Britain compared with the general public and had more confidence in the police and the judicial system.

Nearly three in four said they were loyal to the UK and 82 per cent said they were respectful of other religions.

“Almost nine in 10 Muslims think that any government moves to ban the veil would hurt social cohesion.”

Wearing it destroys social cohesion.

Nothing stops anyone from wearing a veil. You just can’t send your kid to public school, get a driver’s license, or work for employers who need to see your face.

Basically the same inconveniences that Saudi Arabia imposes on women so what’s the problem?

Then they should wear the veils right onto the little plane and fly to a country which is not in the crosshairs of Islamic terrorists who can use those veils against us.

Americans must draw the line and not accept this at all. Hiding one’s face is akin to wearing a mask like a robber. If they want to wear veils they can do it at home or preferably in another country. We must stand firm and together on this.

ban the veil would hurt social cohesion.

Quite honestly, quantum chromodynamics is easier to understand when it comes to 'strong interactions between elementary particles.'

Show greater respect to Islam?

Why should anyone show respect for a death cult that has been on a killing spree for 14 centuries?

There are plenty of countries in which an Islamic woman can ‘wear the veil’. If ‘wearing the veil’, is important to you then don’t move to England, or the US, or any other country that has laws that aren’t consistent with your world view.

“would hurt social cohesion.”- what social cohesion can be there between light and darkness?

One out of every four Muslims are not loyal to the UK. That's a lot of disloyal people living in their midst. Islam is a disease that is infesting the body of the free world.

How about we don’t wear bikinis in your countries, and you don’t wear veils in ours. Facial concealment is sinister and dishonest in our country, as revealing the body is immoral and immodest in yours.

Every attempt to create a parallel society in order to form a force or power that in the future can subdue the European society in order to make it accept sharia rules is an extremely serious crime against a country. It can be compared to treachery during war. (at the end of Policy Area 6, Part 1 Background)
