High tea without a potato knish?; That’s uncivilized.
Having escaped the UK in 1969 and settled to Texas, I have firm opinions about British cuisine. I believe that the great explorers, Raleigh, Drake, Hawkins, etc. prowled across the world, and set the stage for empire, simply because they were looking for something decent to eat.
I had a rather large business dealing with a Sunni from Beirut right after the Hizbullah-Isaraeli blowout. Business is business. These Brits, though, are winning a special place in my heart. At present I don’t think anti-Semitism has a better home in Europe than in England.
