As it turned out, hiring white strippers would have been a prudent decision. Like extra-marital sex, hiring strippers is not the conduct you would like to see from our college students. But, like using a condom, there is a matter of prudent self-protection when engaged in morally questionable behavior. Does anyone think that these young men would have been charged if the stripper had been white? Not that false charges could not have been made, but that no DA, including Nifong, would charge on the uncorroborated accusation of (a) a mentally disturbed stripper (b) with a criminal record, (c) a history of previous unsubstantiated rape allegations, (d) a constantly changing story contrary to the accounts of everyone else who was present at the party, (e) who was passed out drugged or drunk shortly after the alleged offense, and (e) who had the DNA of every straight male in Durham county in her panties, EXCEPT the accused.
you make a good point, yes. The word “prudent” may not be the correct word as these guys wouldn’t know prudent if it slapped them.
