Sharpton and Jackson only have a platform because CBS et al gives it to them. Why should Les Moonves, President of CBS News, agree to meet with a muckraker like Al Sharpton? Moonves caved and after initially agreeing on a 2 week suspension, instead told Imus to bend over. They changed the rules on Imus without giving him fair notice. More PC run amok. The MSM is still scared to death of 60’s black radicals. A lot of good Imus’ apology did as far as keeping his job was concerned. He (unnecessarily) groveled and got fired anyway. File that one away for future reference.

It would be hard to ‘step down’ from the basement...

These two are like athletes foot fungus.

I’m calling for Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, the president and vice president of Black America, to step down.

I nominate Jason Whitlock to take their place.

I only read the excerpt posted. There's a good chance I might well agree with much if not all of what this guy says BUT I'm having trouble getting past this statement:

We need to take a cue from White America and re-elect our leadership every four years.

I always thought that was something ALL Americans did. Apparently not everyone thinks as I do. Sad really...

“We have more important issues to deal with than Imus. If we are unwilling to clean up the filth and disrespect we heap on each other, nothing will change with our condition. You can fire every Don Imus in the country, and our incarceration rate, fatherless-child rate, illiteracy rate and murder rate will still continue to skyrocket.

A man who doesn’t respect himself wastes his breath demanding that others respect him.

We don’t respect ourselves right now. If we did, we wouldn’t call each other the N-word. If we did, we wouldn’t let people with prison values define who we are in music and videos. If we did, we wouldn’t call black women bitches and hos and abandon them when they have our babies.”

WOW is all I can say. Maybe, just maybe, this kind of talk will change something.

Whitlock, as usual is right on the money. He is the Mark Steyn of sportwriters.

I heard this guy on both Lou Dobbs last night and MSNBC this morning. Smart, articulate and insightful...he makes more sense than any of the talking heads I’ve heard the the last two days.

Finally, someone who see’s Jackson and Sharpton (and the entire democrat party) for what they are, keeping them down and labeled as permanent ‘victims’ for their own personal and political gain and relevance.

It’s time for Jesse and Al to step down. They’ve had 25 years to lead us. Other than their accountants, I’d be hard pressed to find someone who has benefited from their administration.

Just classic!!!!

Jason Whitlock is incorrect on one point, though. We don’t have “white leaders”. There are no white leaders. Nor is there a need for them. The “black leaders” have actually been chosen by white liberals.

"There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs....There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who do not want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."

While the media, the Sharptons and Jacksons, and scores of others are moaning and groaning about Imus calling somebody a nasty name, I do not recall any of them outraged at what the subhumans Reginald and Jonathan Carr did to their victims. One barely survived the orgy of slaughter and surely deserved support. Maybe I missed it, but I do not recall Sharpton or Jackson leading protests in that case.

Jackson gets away with calling NYC hymietown. Sharpton is even worse:

1)In 1989, a young woman jogger in Central Park was viciously raped and beaten by a gang of youths. Sharpton led a mob outside the court which claimed, without a shred of evidence, that “the boyfriend did it,” and screamed that the victim was a “whore.”

2)At a rally in Harlem, Sharpton denounced a Jewish small business owner as a “white interloper,” and then stood by approvingly while one his associates incited the crowd to violence. Later, a listener killed seven people in the store. Sharpton then lied and claimed he had never been at the rally.

3)Sharpton helped incite a murderous anti-Jewish pogrom in Brooklyn when he gave a speech at a funeral of a black child who had been accidentally killed by a Jewish driver. Sharpton announced, “If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house.” He also organized a boycott of small grocery stores owned by Korean immigrants. He called New York City’s first black mayor, David Dinkins, “that n-—— whore turning tricks in City Hall.”

4) In 1994, Sharpton explained black cultural superiority: “White folks were in caves while we were building empires. . . . We taught philosophy, astrology, and mathematics before Socrates and those Greek homos.”

It is time to expose Sharpton for the racist and anti-Semite he is, and I think Don Imus is going to be his tar baby while I play Brer Fox. Sharpton will be begging me to throw him in the briar patch by the time I am done with him.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flxTSt-rajI Al Sharpton talks about Don Imus, then wakes up Caucasian. "Al Sharpton (represented by a pig) talks about Don Imus, "Jewish diamond merchants," "white interlopers," and "Greek homos," goes to bed, and wakes up to discover that he has become a Caucasian. How will the "Impresario of Hatred," as he was called in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece, ever make it as a white person after spending a lifetime selling hatred of whites, Koreans, and Jews? Don't worry, Al Sharpton is very resourceful and he wastes no time in finding a perfect home for his unique talents"

Google on "Sharpton" and "Greek homos"--wait until the gay community finds out about that one. Ann Coulter got in trouble for simply mentioning the word "faggot." I wonder how people will react after it gets around that Sharpton, NOT joking as Coulter was, called gay people "homos."
