We are getting rabies alerts about cats, neighborhood by neighborhood now.

How many people have contracted rabies from cats?

No reports of anyone contracting rabies but they have found rabid cats and are giving some people shots as a result. Therefore, the answer is “hopefully none” but that is because measures are being taken. Four cats tested positive in the last week, one after scratching someone. Also raccoons and bats are testing positive. Health officials say it is usually 4 or 5 cases a year. At least 11 people are doing the shot regimen now. The trend is alarming. I suspect global warming is the cause. :)
