Poor I-man, kicked down the stairs like a Bob Gamere, abandoned by the Beautiful People he served so faithfully these past few decades. We won’t be MSNBC’ing the senile old crackhead anymore. No more summer party invitations from his media enablers in the Hamptons. Henceforth, he is a nobody on Nantucket.
Wherever will we get our fix of Doris Kearns Goodwin now? And what’s the over-under on how many days until trophy-wife Deirdre walks out forever?

Just a few days ago, he was the Grand Dragon of WTKKK. Now Bob Grant is feeling sorry for him.
But the most interesting thing about Imus’ sudden demise is how few of the assorted coatholders, front-runners, bumkissers and drive-by pundits who called in every morning could be bothered to stand up for the I-man in his moment of need.
These liberals may be good company at a cocktail party in Vail, but you wouldn’t want to share a foxhole with them. When the I-man’s phone didn’t ring, he knew it was Joe Lieberman. Or maybe Frank Rich.
Until his idiotic flameout, Don Imus was the nearest thing the liberals ever had to a success story in talk radio. He worshipped John Kerry. He fawned over Maureen Dowd. He cursed the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. After Saddam was executed, Imus joked with a local plagiarist about how Dick Cheney would handle himself on the gallows.
Who knew Imus would walk the Green Mile before Karl Rove?
The I-man thought he was one of the Beautiful People, but in the end it turned out like one of those Bob Dylan songs he used to play going into the breaks. Everybody said they’d stand behind him when the game got rough. But the joke was on him, there was nobody even there to bluff.
And now I do believe he’s had enough.
All his new so-called friends ran away and hid on him. Think about that unctuous NBC rumpswab David Gregory. Wednesday night, he went on MSNBC looking like his dog just got run over. But by yesterday morning, Gregory was back on top of his game. He apologized to Jesse Jackson for ever having gone on the Imus show.
But Gregory just did what was expected of him. When the going gets tough, the tough - hey, come back here!
The Beautiful People spent all week stampeding to the microphone to announce, as one female from Time magazine said yesterday, that they won’t be appearing on the Imus Show anymore.
No kidding, honey. Nobody will ever be appearing on the Imus show again, not even Imus.
How many regular-people talk-show listeners did Imus have at the end? Not many, would be my guess. Didn’t notice any truck-drivers blowing their horns in support, did you?
It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
On his final show yesterday, Imus was moaning how the “hypocritical” newspapers had turned on him. Talk about clueless - he was counting on editorial writers to save him.
Too bad Imus “outgrew” all the people who used to listen to him on WNBC. Basically, he forgot who brung him to the dance.
Barney Frank - another target of Bernie McGuirk’s barbs - used to say that, as a politician, your base isn’t the people who will stand behind you when you’re right, but the people who will stand behind you when you’re wrong.
In the end, Imus had no one who would stand behind him, period. That’s why he won’t be down for breakfast.
And what can you say except, There’s no fool like an old fool.
Howie’s probably the saddest one to see the superannuated cokehead sent to Marion Manor. He said his wife was looking forward to “moving on up” to a three bedroom condo in Palm Beach.
Imus was reacting to Howie’s gloating about about the suspension of a certain local plagarism and fabrication artist. The local P&F artist didn’t create the story (far too original for him) he merely goaded Imus into attacking Carr through his wife.
Imus said that Mrs. Carr was doing Riddick Bowe again. Imus made extremely graphic descriptions of the details of the physical relationship between Mrs. Carr and the former boxer. See Howie’s Wikipedia entry for the details. Since Mrs. Carr was not a public person and Imus’ statements were outrageous, false and defamatory, the case was a slam dunk; his insurance company settled out of court. The Dersh handled the case for Howie, BTW.
The MSNBC VP guy that was on the other night did mention that the decision was made after hearing grievances from a number of employees. The first two names that crossed my mind were Andrea Mitchell and Nora O'Donnell.
If it takes place, the truly most shocked will be the ‘useful idiots’ who helped it take place because they will be the first to be eliminated. The black leadership will be silenced and cowed, the ‘Free Press’ will be under the control of the “government”, their opinions will be the the opinions of “The State”. Talk radio will be taken over and only the view of “The State” will be expressed.
The democrats who have, blindly, been supportive in this socialist/ communist movement will not be exempt either, they have also been ,useful idiots, and their power will be contained and restricted by ‘The State’.
Schools will be nothing but indoctrination centers, it is very close to that now.
America had better wake up and fast, there will no turning back from the destruction of this Republic after it begins in 2008.
This situation is a “What goes around, comes around” in SPADES!! I could not believe that Tim the Toad Imus butt kisser and Gregory et al tossed him overboard “like Rats fleeing a sinking ship”....man,this is EASY.... Imus was a walking cliche!

Imus made his bed, groveling at he feet of jerks like, Kerry, Russert, Ford, Dodd, Lieberman et al. At his time of need they abandoned him as did MSM. The only people who stood by free speech are folks to the right of center. Poor pathetic Imus kept pleading “I ain’t no right wing racist”. But, the left wing racists led by Messrs. Sharpton & Jackson caused his ultimate demise. Not only did Imus take a hit so did the 1st amendment.

The best thing is that these liberals have one less place to go to spew their vile against conservatives.
On our local talk station yesterday, I learned that his MSNBC simulcast was one of the primary reasons for the recent shakeup of CNN morning show personalities. A televised radio show was threatening to overtake the CNN offering!
“I ain’t no right wing racist”.......THAT line made me sick to my stomach....good riddance.

I heard this on Opie and Anthony, not the best source, but they do have industry connection and Olbermann impresses me as the type who would stab someone in the back.

Olbermann is such a sleazy guy. He probably thinks he has a shot at the show.

Remember the Clinton Impeachment and and how he held the 'rats in line. If it was the other way around, republicans would have run over the women and children to get into the lifeboats.
Is anybody surprised that the liberals are not loyal? Whatever appearance of loyalty they purport to spread around is for their narcissistic gain.
