No tears here. No free speech rights were violated. No great truth was silenced.

No. Not yet. But last night you could already sense the guns were being laid for other radio talkshow hosts. This is the first shot in a very long war.

Steven A. Smith has been all over ESPN commenting on this. He is giving kudos to CBS Radio & MSNBC for "setting the example". Fortunately I think Steven-A is wrong. MSNBC was clearly weighing the economics of the situation before firing Imus. It wasn't until several major sponsors jumped ship that they made the decision.

Prediction: Michael Savage is next on the hit parade.

XM and Sirius are trying to get a merger approved by Federal regulators. They're not going anywhere near Imus.

From a purely business standpoint, why would they want to make any major contractual moves until they know whether the merger is going to be approved? It would be stupid to be bidding against eachother.

The future of satellite radio is not really clear to me. Many of the programs strike me as the broadcasting equivalent of a "MySpace" website. Who's really listening?

this is my favorite line, and so very true!!

liberals may be good company at a cocktail party in Vail, but you wouldn’t want to share a foxhole with them.

I saw Nora O’Donnell on TV earlier this week and began a question to a guest by saying “The viewers at home can decide whether the Duke players are guilty or innocent but let’s say they are not guilty for a moment...” I laughed my ass off; seems like she has doubts despite all that has been made public. The viewers can decide? Obviously, some hatred and illogic coming from those sultry lips.

Animal Crackers...2007

Groucho/Imus: Hello, Imus be going
I cannot stay I came to say Imus be going
I’m glad I came but just the same, Imus be going

Deidre/Margaret Dumont: For my sake you must stay
For if you go away
You’ll spoil this party I am throwing

Mike Barnicle: I’ll do a week or two
I’ll stay the summer through

Imus: But I am telling you
Imus be going...

They got Imus. Now they’re aiming for Rush, Savage, and a few others on the right.

I love “The Beautiful People” tag. That’s my new slogan for all lefty’s in my office. It will drive them insane. Throwing IMUS under the bus somehow validates how they feel.

Al Sharpton bending over for Imus's kiss was too much of a visual even for liberals..
He'll never live it down.. Too much fat mixed with too much ugly..

He’s a liberal. I agree. The libs who are denying this are the worst kind of libs; Clintonistas. The Bubbaites are still upset over the way Imus made fun of the First Philanderer during his "presidency". The fact of the matter was that Imus supported Slick Willy during the election, but Bubba committed the mortal sin of not showing up for scheduled appearance after he won the election. From that point on, Imus ripped him on a regular basis, culminating in the Correspondence Dinner fiasco. In the minds of the simple minded, disloyalty to Bubba makes one a conservative.

So, how true, how true, Live by political correctness, die by tyranny with manners.
