The Don Imus affair has achieved one ENORMOUS BENEFIT (for me at least):

My wife is completely disgusted with Oprah Winfrey, and has sworn never to watch “that racist” (her words) again!

Yaaaaay!

Imus might just have realized something too... MSM is a pack of Hyenas... Hyenas eat their own.

I've brought that up with liberals and they don't seem to want to talk about it.

Don Imus IS a liberal.

Maybe I’m paranoid, but those numbers don’t look “surprisingly” even, they look “suspiciously” even.

I agree with you. Even the most uniform of uniform distributions just aren't that uniform!

And they say the pioneering spirit is dead!

That woman drives me nuts. (Oprah, not your wife, of course)

:)

reverse racism protected by law. Granting minoritys special protection to incite uprising is the same as tying the hands of the bully and giving the weakling a baseball bat to strike the bully with.
The law empowers blacks and other minoritys to strike without the fear of reprimand.
This policy is breeding resentment and one day the people most affected will fight back and it could get ugly.

When have we ever seen white people in America riot and burn cities to get special favor and attention?

Extreme double standard.

And now the flames are hissing, and amid the roar of furnace and of bellows the head of the mighty Sejanus, the darling of the mob, is burning and crackling ... Up with the laurel wreaths over your doors! Lead forth a grand chalked bull to the Capitol! Sejanus is being dragged along by a hook, as a show and a joy to all! "What a lip the fellow had! What a face!" - "Believe me, I never liked the man!" - "But on what charge was he condemned? Who informed against him? What was the evidence, who the witnesses who made good the case?" - "Nothing of the sort; a great and wordy letter came from Capri" - "Good; I ask no more."

- Juvenal, Satire X

"Nil plus interoggo." - "I ask no more."

That's you.

All of the mentioned scenarios bother me. An issue of suppressed free speech (no matter how crude) always bothers me. If things get edgy..turn the channel.

That being said..the cynical side of me asks, is this some kind of media grab to get out of a contract to move to a better paying gig with satellite radio?

Don’t hold your breath waiting for that fighting back stuff. White people are conditioned in a way that not only do they believe the double standard is fair, but that it’s racist for us to say anything about it.

It’s absolutely amazing, breathtaking, to see the way this is being rationalized. I just saw a snippet of Hannity on Fox with some ditzy blonde passing judgment as though she were God Almighty. “... but you weren’t being mean ...” - something like that, which to her formed the boundary between a career ending crime and a readily excusable faux pas.

That still doesn’t beat Snoopy Doggy saying that he’s only talking about gold diggin’ ho’s, so it’s different when HE says it. Hard to top that one for absurdity.

need to add:

* Jackson’s “Hymietown” history, and the way no one wants to ask him about it (in relation to the Imus story)

I’d love to see Fox hire Imus on. The liberals would go ballistic and we could have 4th of July fireworks in April.
