Eclipse Aviation delivered the worlds first very light jet (VLJ) customer aircraft earlier this month, intent on clearing the waiting list of more than 2,500 aircraft. Given the companys current facilities are designed to support the production of approximately 1,000 aircraft a year, its unlikely that joining the waiting list for the US$1.5 million Eclipse 500 will get you one this side of late 2009, but the market for very light jets seems to be getting a lot of attention and we suspect this is just the beginning of a whole new era of personal flight.
The first customer Eclipse 500 was delivered to co-owners David Crowe, a private owner, and Jet-Alliance, a shared jet ownership company in Westlake Village, California. While Crowe plans to use his time with the jet primarily for recreation, Jet-Alliance will be using it to serve the needs of their growing list of co-ownership clients.
Although the vision of an affordable jet may have seemed like a risky investment to some back in 2000, I never doubted this day would come, said Crowe. With my Eclipse 500, Ill not only have convenient access to my favorite places and hobbies, Ill have a lot more time to enjoy them.
To maximize his investment and Eclipse 500 usage, Crowe entered a partnership to co-own his Eclipse 500 with Jet Alliance. Their arrangement is a fitting example of the Eclipse 500s appeal to both private owners and a whole new generation of entrepreneurs.

6 seater Lear 5 from CT to MO with an overnight VIP treatment -$25,000.
Ahhh - how I love my Mac and Safari. :-)
Ford or Chevy, the old arguement continues!! LOL
That is a SkyJet rental cost for two days.
Drinks and tip included?
This is a very small jet. No Luxury. But the ground VIP was great. For instance, the rental car on the ground was driven right up to the plane. Coming home to CT, the landing field had been changed to another airfield from where their cars were, so SkyJet arranged for a driver and car to take them back to where they the lifted off from. The weather had been awful this week so there were alot of changes. The meeting went alot later than they thought, so the plane was up and ready whenever they were ready.
Beats commercial travel! I used to travel for my work. (YUCK!) I said I didn’t mind flying, i just hated airports.

I also traveled on work, for about 25 years. I’ve taken 19 overseas trips so far, all business class, and still have enough miles for two more of the same type trips. Do the grunge stuff now, you’ll appreciate it later.
Ain’t no such animal as a Lear 5; perhaps you meant Lear 25, 35, 45 or 55. None are nearly as small as Eclipse - THAT is a small plane.
“Regular” exec jets run 7-15 million, you can go up to 50 if you are feeling flush. Eclipse about 1.5 Mil.

A Meyers? I’m jealous! That’s a very nice airplane.
All that, and no bathroom! Not my kind of plane
You can order a restroom as an option. Take a look at “build my plane” on their website.
I spotted your blurb on N2976T. i presently own that Meyers and have been flring it @ 11 years. Great airplane and really a nice traveling machine. Know it’s in good hands and well cared for.
