I have zero sypathy with Turkey, but the PKK in Turkey is really getting cocky. The Turks should drop their arrogant position and meddling regarding the Kirkuk-issue. The Kurdish authonomy, PKK, Turkey and the US should broker a deal in which Turkey and Kurdistan agree to keep off each other and deploy the PKK forces to the Iranian border, where they can merge with the Iranian PKK (Pejak) and concentrate on fighting the Iranian Regime Forces in Kurdistan.

I guess the Turks are now wondering if it was such a good idea to shut down our back door for the initial invasion. I wish the PKK luck. Likewise for their Iranian franchise.

To the Turks: I will not forget or forgive your turning your backs on your allies four years ago. Stick your a$$es in the air, along with your ideological bretheren.

Yes. Kirkuk is the second mega-oilfield in Iraq (the other is in the Shia south). Turkey is wetting it’s pants by the thought of a Kurdish controlled Kirkuk. It would give the Kurds tremendous power and wealth (despite the Iraqi oil revenue distribution). Kirkuk is a traditionaly Kurdish region, but Saddam Hussein “Arabificated” the region by force-settling Arabs there and expelling Kurds. This is now being reversed, much to anxiety of the Turks.

You got that right. We should place an armored division at their border.

Turkey's military asked the government Thursday to approve attacks on Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq
I think the US should defend it's Kurdish allies in this case.

ANKARA, Turkey - Turkey's military asked the government Thursday to approve attacks on Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq, signaling growing frustration over a lack of action against the guerrillas by Iraqi and U.S. forces. Pi$$ on the Turks.

This could really balloon into a real difficult problem as most can surmise. It has festered for centuries on end. If Turkey does not continue to show constraint things could get very nasty. Problem is, neither Turkey nor Iraq have much control over all those that want no parts of the others in this age old quest to remain group independent. They all hate one another to the nth degree. And all the oil in the region does not help a bit.

We should place an armored division at their border.Where can we find one to spare?

I can’t help but wonder if Dubya might be a bit more sympathetic to the Turkish point of view had they not interfered with Operation Iraqi Freedom.

We should place an armored division at their border. I'd rather we placed an AD on our border.

Re: Your Kurdish Problem
We are disappointed to hear of your border problems with the Kurds. Maybe next time you will cooperate with the only global superpower that really matters.
