Probably a drunk driving home from Atlantic City. I’ve gotten whacked before on the parkway by a guy falling asleep at the wheel. Nothing serious, but extreme hours of straight gambling plus drinks causes all sorts of havoc on that highway. I’ve seen some nasty, nasty wrecks traveling to and from Atlantic City on the Parkway.

Mark Levin reported that New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine was on his way to a meeting with the Rutgers women’s basketball team and Don Imus at his Princeton, NJ Mansion. According to Associated Press:

The crash occurred when a pickup truck on the right shoulder of the highway swerved then came back onto the highway, said State Police Superintendent Rick Fuentes. Another pickup in the right lane swerved into the passenger side of the sport utility vehicle in which Corzine was riding, he said.

Reuters reports it a hit-and-run accident.

Corzine is in critical condition following surgery for his broken leg. His condition is not considered life threatening.

I heard he was rushing to kiss Al Sharpton’s fat butt. Is this true?

With 97 percent of precincts reporting, Corzine had 53 percent to Forrester's 44 percent.

Still waiting on those other 3% of the precincts???

I assume the bad news is that he is expected to live.

If it was fatal, one has to wonder what corrupt person would take over NJ. Most of NJ's political establishment should be sent to prison, IMO. It's like reading about some corrupt South American regime.

No seat belt apparently. And on a fool’s errand to “mediate” the Imus-Rutgers thing. Absurd. Poor guy, he’ll have a tough recovery. I fractured one bone in my foot in December. I’m still in pain when I put pressure on it.

Heard on the news this morning that both legs were hanging out the passenger window. Maybe next time he’ll reconsider his “habit of not wearing a seat belt.”

Is Corzine a male or a female?

I don’t keep up too much with NJ politics. Lived there during my army career for about half a year. Loved the seashore....hated the toll booths.

Hope their governor recuperates well.

The Gov will now make a good poster person for wearing seat belts.

Bushs Fault!
No wait!
it is Imus’ fault! if he hadn’t said that the Governor wouldn’t have been there at that time.

Within the first month after we had moved to New Jersey (1985)the same thing happened to me on the inbound George Washington Bridge:it was mid-day , stop and go traffic, no more than 10-20 MPH, but halfway across, I got rear-ended, pushing my 15 year old station wagon into the rear end of a BRAND NEW CADILLAC in front of me, who had stopped, as I was just about to. I got out, the Cadillac owner got out, nearly in tears as he looked at the pushed-in trunk of his car, which was ONE DAY OLD. We both approached the driver of the car who hit me, who had gotten out, and needed to have it explained to him how HE hit ME, and that caused ME to hit the Cadillac guy. I glanced back at the guy’s car and it had about the occupancy rate of an illegal apartment in the Bronx, all Latinos. “I hope you have insurance” I said. “Oh, yeah” he said, and went back to the car. I made the mistake of turning my back on him, and two seconds later, Cadillac man and myself watched the driver whiz by us as fast as he could across the GWB.. I got stuck with paying a third of the repair on the Cadillac, and my rates went up about 20%.But of course, as spinmeisters like Geraldo would say, “It’s not an illegal issue, it’s a bad driver issue”. So, basically, I paid the driver’s insurance FOR him. Call it another form of welfare, say, in the same way the Lottery is another form of taxation.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but the truck authorities were looking for has been found. The driver is not being charged, he is a ‘mentally impaired’ year old, did know he caused the crash and ‘thought he actually avoided an accident’.
