I see I've missed some posts on the thread, honestly my eyes are too tired to go read them. Here's what I know:

Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.

And evil flourishes when good and decent people do not hold EVERYONE to the same level of account when they say and do unacceptable things. Injustice harms everybody.
