I couldn’t see any scenario where the Imus in the morning show could have survived in it’s present form.

I used to tune in for the media talking heads and pols. You could usually count on a headsup on the days talking points.

There is no way any of them would go on the show now that it is radioactive. Without the interviews you are left with a geriatric Howard Stern.

Imus’s show had turned into a thinly veiled vehicle to pimp MSNBC reporters.

MSNBC is now totally reliant on Keith Olbermann (barf) and Chris Matthews (barf). DOOMED!

While I agree that it’s disgusting that Al and Jesse appear to had a hand in the Imus firing, I don’t think that was the real reasoning behind it.

Let’s face it. Imus is an elitist ass who thought he was untouchable. He has and does daily:
-Rubs everyone’s nose in his wealth
-Beat’s up vendors for freebies for the “Ranch”, (cars, grand pianos, trucks, home theatres, pools, pool tables.... ad nauseum) all the while professing to be willing to pay full price; ...but threatens to air bad publicity if they don’t pony up for free.
-He brings how many sick children to his ranch annually? (You would be shocked at the low number considering how much money he takes in)
- Denegrates his own employees publically and on air
-Throws tantrums hourly
- Brags how foul-mouthed his own small child is
- Will parrot any position his wife takes
- Prohibits his “Ranch” guests from TV, video games, meat because his wife thinks that’s best
- Constantly begs for money for his ranch (tax-free vacation and retirement home)
-Constantly plugs his wife’s “organic” cleaning products while in the employee of CBS
-Berates his own bosses as idiots and morons
-Brags about how he refuses to do what he’s told by his employer
-Threw food at an employee because his butter wasn’t melted enough on a muffin;...on air
-Begs his employer to fire him
-Drones on daily about his personal health and every mundane nuance of his horrific private life
-Humiliates public figures with glee
- Wears stupid clothes
- Complains about guests bringing him “Stupid, moronic, chessie gifts and berates them when they don’t bring him said gifts

It’s a train-wreck....I could go on for hours.

I listen because Bernie is funny. Rob is funny. Charles is classy. Imus gets high profile guests who want the free air time. Imus gets in the way.

Remember, this is not a one time slip. Imus was fired because he has pissed off every employee and boss he has ever been around. THEY WERE THE REASON HE WAS FIRED. This was just a convenient last straw for the already pissed off boss to can his arrogant butt. Imus found out the hard way that he wasn’t untouchable.

I love watching the usual talking heads who were daily guests now scramble to defend him while pretending to report the news. Their black arm-bands are worn under their suits.

He’s a spoiled brat who never had to learn the word NO because he was enabled for years. I’ve also learned that anyone who has to tell me how much good they’ve done, probably isn’t truly all that good. If I earned millions at the expense of other people’s dignity and humiliation, I would gladly give pennies on the dollar of my wealth to keep that wealth coming in; and pat myself on the back all the way to the bank. Just say “Children” and “ See what I’m doing for them?”, and you have an almost fail-proof scheme. All sins are absolved...and I get richer.

Bottom line: Imus used his show as a personal platform for his own self-gratification. He revelled in being a big time player and thought he was immune from the consequences most everyone else would have to face in the real world.

I say give the show to Bernard. He has propped Imus up for years.

...can you tell I really don’t have a lot of fondness for Don Imus?....he’s the rudest, most arrogant stammering nothing on Earth. Good riddance.
