The dirty little secret on the elimination of Don Imus is that, although generally liberal, he was strongly opposed to Hillary Clinton being elected President. Al Sharpton, the point man in taking Imus down, is an ally of Hillary. He has served as an attack dog for her in her rivalry with Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination for President. Furthermore, Hillary attacked Imus earlier and more strongly than either Obama or Edwards.

The Clintons are the masters of strong arm politics. Unlike Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity, Savage, Beck, etc., Imus was dependent on the MSM and national advertisers who are easily cowed by the likes of Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Imus was an enemy and vulnerable, so he has gone down.

Barack Obama and John Edwards better stay away from small aircraft in their travels around the country. They should also take care of what they eat and drink.
