Please take the AFA - American Family Association Presidential preference straw poll.
WHO IS AFA?
AFA is for people who are tired of cursing the darkness and who are ready to light a bonfire. We are a non-profit (501(c)(3)) organization founded in 1977 by Don Wildmon. The American Family Association represents and stands for traditional family values, focusing primarily on the influence of television and other media including pornography on our society.

Me, too.
Thank you for the pingee, Jo.
Probably not as an indicator of the general population, more so perhaps for Republican activists who dominate the primaries at the grassroots level.
I suspect polls like this are intended to "send a message" to the GOP establishment that the grassroots and the base aren't happy with Rudy McRomney and want someone else. They may also be intended to send a message to (Fred) Thompson that there's a fertile market for him in the GOP primary season, if he'll throw his hat into the ring.
Gingrich seems to have thought about international policy too.
Hunter takes no prisoners when it comes to legislation.
Bottom line... we have a lot of good material to work with.
I only have one now. My old beagle died last week.
These polls also draw money to leading candidates.
My deepest condolences.
How old was he/she?
Health problems?
For sure, they are an awesome organization. But I ain’t convinced they don’t have a dog in this fight?
Seems that they were pushing for Newt, while Dr. Dobson took a swipe at Fred Thompson’s “religious street cred”.
Can you even have “religious street cred”?
Hmmm?
Fred Thompson at over 18,000 is IMO the most electable.
The second tier of electable candidates IMO would be a close tie among Giuliani, McCain, and Gingrich. Gringrich has the most of the three and at this stage would be my second choice in the primaries.
IMO the rest of the Republican field would be unelectable in the general election. (I know, I know, but I’m just giving my judgment. You are free to disagree.)
The only surprise to me is that Mike Huckabee with about 2,500 votes is close to the votes of those I would call second tier. I would have though his numbers would have been a smaller percentage.
Lord, if You desire Fred Thompson to be our President,
I pray that You would heal his body and envigorate him
with the strenghth of Caleb. In Jesus name.
[...Can you even have religious street cred?...]
I think you just handed it to them. LOL!
Correction: I should have listed Mitt Romney in the second tier. He certainly belongs there at least.
She got sick about that time and just couldn’t seem to get over it. I still have one of her 3 yr old pups.
Oh no. Which food did she get?
We’ve always fed our dogs Pedigree and they are doing fine.
Our “Princess” is 11 years old as well. She has some lumps
and a chronic ear problems, but other than that, she’ll probably
live forever.
Are you going to join a civil suit?
Amen,...and well said.
And you’re better than me because I might have put in a request to “smite” his political foes.
ps. ... and smite his political foes.
Now we can turn our minds to other, weightier, questions like proper usage of “smite”, “smote” and “smitten” as it regards one’s foes.
Sorry to hear about your beagle, FRiend. Mine’s 12 and entertains and annoys me to no end.
She ate the Ol Roy chunks and gravy. The same company makes Pedigree.
Don’t blame Jesus if Fred does not win. He leaves these decisions to men. And Fred is not in bad shape in any case from what he said yesterday this seems to be about as minor as cancer can be: no symptoms, no drastic treatments, no reduction of lifespan.
Thanks.
