Why do they speak only to anti-Bush Americans? Are Americans in Britain too scared to be proud of their President? After seeing the Brit Marines (supposedly the best of the best of the Brit military) cavorting around with Ragheadijad, I see no reason to be scared of British people.

If all else fails, just wear a Kaffiyeh and threaten to chop their heads off. They seem to wet themselves over that.

I see no reason to be scared of British people.

Britian is fast becoming an utterly vicious, violent, hateful society. If you were there, were completely outnumbered, and the pommie scum were directing their unhinged vitriol at you, you might feel differently.

Ms Cox, 29, says she has been called, among other things, “terrorist”, “scum”, “low life”, and feels that she is constantly being held to account for the actions of President Bush and for US foreign policy.

This is despite the fact that she doesn’t agree with the war in Iraq and didn’t vote for Bush.

However she adds: “Bush is our leader and I respect that. It’s a bit like the way you feel about your father. You don’t always agree with him, but you would defend him

Long ago, before I visited Europe for the first time, an old friend who had lived in Britain and on the Continent, told me that the obnoxious Americans were usually the only ones visible, that the soft-spoken, polite, unintrusive Americans blended into the crowd and were unnoticed. This was back in the 1960s, when anti-Americanism was present but not rife.

I lived in Europe for some time after that and travelled there many other times. I found this to be true.

I remember one incident very well. I was in the Ritz Bar in Paris, sipping wine and silently musing on the spectres of Scot Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway. I told the waiter about my musings. He was quite friendly.

About that time, I was distracted by the loud voice of an obnoxious woman with a thick American accent, talking to the same waiter. She announced where she was from in the U.S., but I'll keep that to myself.

I slunk down in my booth, hoping not to be noticed.

Then she asked where the little Limoge ashtrays were that they Ritz Bar used to have.

The waiter said they had to discontinue them because people stole them.

The woman said, in her very loud voice, "Yes! I took a bunch of them. I've got a collection of them at home."

The waiter said nothing.

She then added: "But I think they like for you to take things like that, don't you? I mean...it's good advertisment."

The waiter said nothing.

Neither did I. I slunk further down in my booth.

But the Brits are open minded, excepting and tolerant. They follow the liberal formula over there. How can they be “hateful” towards anyone?

(/sarcasm)

Well, there you have it. Someone shows a bit of racism, and the lefties are now saying it’s the VICTIMS who have to change.

Well, isn’t that interesting. And contradictory. And typically lefty.

Pointless post of an old article.

If you want to know how the tens of thousands of Americans living in Britain feel about it look here:
