“and has fought to break up media companies (conservatives generally believe shareholders (owners) should be the ones to determine what happens with their money).”

I do NOT know the details on exactly what McCain wants to do with media companies, but conservatives (and anyone not wanting a monopoly on dissemination of opinion through the media outlets) should be VERY concerned about the concentration of our print, Tv, and radio media in the hands of an increasingly few conglomerates. Cries about the ‘MSM’ are in fact referring to about 5 companies (GE, NYT, Disney, Viacom, and Time Warner), with a couple of other newspapers thrown in WSJ/DJ, and the owners of the washington post.

We all can print up something on the net, on a piece of paper, or stand in town square and say whatever we want, BUT just a few companies control the single most effective method of delivering goodfacts to citizens. I don’t claim to have a solution but it is a very troubling situation.

Understood. But breaking up any large media company would, in no way, help assure conservative thought would come out of them. Our closest “truth” of such caliber is Fox.

The natural decentralization that the internet encourages is the way to address the inadequacies we find elsewhere. Mandating through law what companies or individuals can say is inherently wrong.

I share your concern, but this is what we’ve had for years. It is refreshing to note that someone like Rush Limbaugh can break the mold and help usher in a new time for conservatives.

We need the freedom to choose. That is most important and a cornerstone of liberty.
