STATEWIDE (WIS) - A new poll has some good news for Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton in South Carolina. The SCIndex has Giuiliani leading among likely Republican voters, with 29 percent, followed by John McCain at 16 percent and Mitt Romney with eight percent. Giuliani's current lead is built primarily on support from women. Thirty-seven percent of all female Republican presidential primary voters indicate that they support the former New York Mayor. Fifteen percent of women who plan to vote in the Republican presidential primary support John McCain. McCain and Giuliani split support among male voters with each candidate getting 20 percent of their vote. Among the likely Democratic voters, Hillary Clinton is on top, with 32 percent. Barack Obama is second with 23 percent and John Edwards has 21 percent. Clinton is leading Obama among African American females, 41 percent to 29 percent. Obama is leading Clinton among African American males 34 percent to 28 percent. Among all women Clinton receives 38 percent to Edwards' 19 percent and Obama's 22 percent. Clinton has a slight edge on Edwards with white females 35 percent to 33 percent. Edwards has the lead among white males with 45 percent to Obama's 10 percent and Clinton's 10 percent. That poll was conducted April third and fourth and had a margin of error of 4.9 percent. The SC Index is done quarterly by groups not affiliated with any of the candidates.
Who'd a Thunk? ;-)
(((RUDY PING))))
Not really surprising to me at all.
The biggest myth perpetrated by the Giuliani supporter is that he is the one that “can win”. Isn’t it obvious just from the reaction on this message board that a G-lib nomination will keep conservatives home in droves and a significant third party vote. A G-lib nomination hands the Presidency to the democrats.
Were there any Republicans or just the 2 dems?
You still don’t get it do you. What is said on this board doesn’t mean a thing. FR does not represent the rest of the country. We are in a little bubble here.
McCain seems to be slowly slipping away.
The race has a long way to go. These polls are essentially meaningless. The only real purpose they serve is for the candidates to use them to raise money. That said, once the debates start and we see the candidates side by side espousing their positions on various issues, Rudy will fade quickly.
Yes he is but he recently revamped his campaign so we might see a bit of a jump in the next polls coming out.
The ‘Pubbies don’t want conservatives anymore. They figure they’ll pick up enough conservatives on the basis of “Where else can they go?” and reflexive anti-Democrat voting, but what they really want are the “Undecideds” and “Moderates.” They figure there are lot more folks in the “middle” than there are on the right.
I have been hearing this since Rudy decided to run. It hasn't happened yet. He's not going to fade any time soon.

Yeah, I just seen that in itty bitty print at the bottom. :)
You have that right. I’ll never forget that this forum largely supported Alan Keyes in the 2000 election! We all see how that worked out.
At some point this race is going to be a two man between Rudy and someone else. I just have a hard time seeing folks who oppose Rudy rallying behind McCain but we’ll see.
BINGO!! I didn't believe that at first but I googled and did a search and read the posts! Boy did they hate George Bush at the time. It was just as bad as it is now.
No, you don't get it. Conservatives do not vote for liberals. If we are unimportant then why are you here peddling a liberal to conservatives?
Hate to break your little bubble, but all your polls and early leads for Rudy, will diminish, as people learn the liberal truth about Rudy.
Rudy is a manufactured candidate, he is a no sale to a conservative.
I think if Fred Thompson decides not to run they will rally around Duncan Hunter. Duncan Hunter is really the only Social Conservative of all the candidates including Fred Thompson.
Bush and McCain just loved having him in the debates towards the end. /s
