THE CIVILITY SQUAD SKIRTS THE RAP RATS DOWNWARD SPIRAL
Michelle Malkin
April 11, 2007 -- THE culture of "bitches, ho's and niggas."
Let's stipulate: I have no love for Don Imus, Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. A pox on all their race-baiting houses.
Let's also stipulate: The Rutgers women's basketball team didn't deserve to be disrespected as "nappy-headed ho's." No woman deserves that. I agree with the athletes that Imus' misogynist mockery was "deplorable, despicable and unconscionable." And as I noted on Fox News' "O'Reilly Factor" this week, I believe top public officials and journalists who have appeared on Imus' show should take responsibility for enabling Imus - and should disavow his longstanding invective.
But let's take a breath now and look around. Is the Sharpton & Jackson Circus truly committed to cleaning up cultural pollution...

Wow, saw this same opinion earlier with REALLY different title.
The Culture of “B****es, H*s, and N****s http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1815520/posts
I don’t care about the Rap Rats , but I think we should defer to Rap Cat and see what he thinks about this mess .

What Imus SHOULD have done is gone on Sharptons show, given a very brief mea culpa then asked Al, if the words I used were so offensive, tell us all when you and Jesse Jackson will begin speaking out forcefully AGAINST the woman demeaning, gratuitous racial epithet hurling, education-denigrating, drug-using, death-dealing, gang-banging hip-hip culture in the way Bill Cosby has?
Then Imus should have walked out, leaving that one hanging there around Sharptons neck like the stinking albatross it is.
He should have taken Stern’s advice and said “**** you , it was a joke” . The minute someone acts apologetic , it’s over.... until they bury you .
I saw on the local NYC news tonight that Sharpton and Jackson are not accepting Imus’s apology and are going to picket the CBS offices to demand that he be fired from his radio job.
They might not be satisfied even after the burial. Give them an inch and they take 2 miles .....
I don’t like Imus , but this is insane....
Imus got his nose brown for nothing.
Exactly right.
The thing is, Imus knows that he was wrong and has accepted responsibility for his actions. That has to count for something.
Unfortunately, the rap music industry has made oceans of money promoting the filth and the younger generations are buying it, incorporating it into their lives. That is what Cosby is fighting and what the others need to fight if they intend to have a culture worth saving.
I’m hoping that Imus’ legacy is that, because of his lamebrained words, the black community will finally turn the light of righteous indignation on the trash culture that has spawned those words and made that life acceptable to their youth and turn against it with a vengence. That would be a culture changing moment, one that would be historically significant.
Sharpton and Jackson had better be down on their frigging knees apologizing to the Duke students they lynched!
