Not a problem- I don’t mind a bit- Fred’s going to get his hits just like all the others- he’s a big boy, I expect he can handle it..

As much as I DETESTED Lincoln Chafee..he was still part of the majority. For those Republicans who stayed home to “teach us a lesson”...now they can see the way government works when the LIBS are elected.

I find this quote from Fred salient ..

“There are a lot of reasons I support Linc. We agree on most issues, disagree on some. Obviously, keeping control of the Senate is very important. I don’t like the sound of ‘Chairman Kennedy.’ “

Hey, I heard that one day, while strolling through the hallway of a Senate office building, he actually said "Hello" to Barbara Boxer!!!

Can you believe the gall of that RINO???

So I guess that means Rudy McRomney gets my vote!

Had Chafee won there would be no Majority Leader Ried.

The big story would be if Chafee endorses Thompson for President, then...then...and if that happens...I might have to reconsider.

Actually, had Chafee been one of just 50 Republicans, he probably would have pulled a Jeffords, and given Reid the Senate in exchange for a plum committee chairmanship. That’s not to say that I fault Thompson for supporting the terrible Chafee. Its just politics, and the conventional wisdom was that Chafee had a better chance than his primary challenger.

As of now, I’d still take Fred Thompson over the frontrunners.

Ah we were waiting for you to pop up here for your anti-FDT hit and run specials.

But I will grant you this, I was looking at the list of threads and noted a number of threads that were clearly anti-Rudy. I did not read them, never have and never will.

So I guess your animus is to ‘pay back’ all those for starting negative threads about your rock star idol.

Here I only read the FDT threads as far as the 2008 election. The only problem is that as I read the FDT threads alot of people remind me of things Guiliani did such as supporting Cuomo over Pataki.

FDT’s support of Chaffee to keep GOP control of the Senate seems appropriate and Guliani’s support of Cuomo seems traitorous.

And that’s the theme throughout all these threads. Arrows flung against FDT bounce off whereas arrows flung against RG often stick.

So you think in this situation he should have supported the democrat?

No kidding? What’s Old Pat got against Fred? Seems he’s been gnawing on this bone for a few weeks now. I’m DUMBFOUNDED. Do you think he’s had a stroke? It’s not like Fred is a serial rapist or killer. Did Fred not support one of Pat’s pet projects while in Congress?

Pat supported Bush, Bush supported Lincoln...now Pats website is trashing Fred for supporting Linc?

I guess whoever wrote that on Pat’s Website must not have cared if the Republicans kept control of the Senate. Grasping at straws to trash the man.

Mark Levin came on the air ranting that he didn’t care if the dems took over the senate.

That kind of hysteria against so called RINO’s brought us nothing but BAD, very bad times.

The President did not deserve this, nor did our troops or our allies.

If people are incapable of seeing the big picture, then they ought not use the public airwaves to undermine national security.

This is so nothing. People have even forgotten that Rick Santorum endorsed Arlen Specter for President.

Agree with all your points.

That said, we did not lose the House or Senate because our base did not turn out, give or take a few votes.

We lost independents 59 to 41, and with them went both chambers.

Chafee easily would’ve traded his party label for a committee chairmanship from the ‘Rats. Thompson was merely being a good Republican in campaigning for our GOP Senators, even the apostates.
