As you will recall, Cap Weinburger was indicted on very bogus charges three days before the Presidential election in a transparent (and successful) to effect the election results. He should have been pardoned, no question.

I could accept Marc Rich on Bildo's list as long as Leonard Peltier and Jonathan Pollard (both of whom he coulda gained big bucks for pardoning) were missing.

As many wonder if Bush will pardon Lewis Libby, Again they have to take an undeserved cheap shot. The well-deserved-because-he-should-have-never-been-indicted potential pardon of Libby is equated to be on the same level as these (many of which I would dispute).

Cap Weinberger definitely deserved his pardon. What a racket those charges were.

Pardoning the ordinary citizens of the States of the Confederacy was "notorious"?
