Sorry to hear that. Having only recently begun understanding the mindset and motivations of women all I can tell you is that when you finally understand you will truly have to agree that we are two totally different species when you get right down to it. I mean, bloody 'ell! We can say the same bloody thing and it will mean two totally different things to both the sexes!

Let Me give you just one little tip: Women do not act from the 'logical' part of the brain. And yes, I know I will be severely flamed for this but I have found it to be true in every instance I have thought upon.

Women operate from the 'attraction' base of their brain -and Attraction is not based upon Logic!

OK, flame away, lol! But I know I speak the truth. *grin*

Men are from Mars... Let’s get liquored up, cruise on over to Venus, and get some!

That plan is outrageous and irresponsible! First you need a designated driver, and then get liquored up and go...

Not much difference between the sexes--it's the ideologies which separate us. I have a lot in common with my freepin' hubby, and nothing in common with Mr Uberlib next door neighbor.

What we don't understand is guys' fondness for Pamela Anderson's chest. ;-)

I don't know if you've ever lived on a military installation...when I was living on Fort Knox, it was not at all uncommon to find a congregation of wives at the on-post pool mid-afternoon. The guys would get done for the day, get out of their sweaty bdus, coveralls, uniforms, etc, and go for a quick, refreshing dip. I love a man in a uniform, but I have no objection to a man out of uniform, either--especially one with a chiselled military physique.

Fort Knox had some breathtaking views.

Smart women always let the man think everything was his idea.

Have to disagree here with Chaucer- my husband is far superior to me in all aspects; I have absolutely no desire to control or master him only to share my life with him.

Women are about the most interesting subject in the universe. Once you learn some small facet of them, they recognize your advancing knowledge and change the rules of the game. If you are clueless regarding some aspect of them, they change the rules of the game in order to deepen your confusion.

Women... The most fascinating game a man can play while never understanding the rules!

(But flowers for no reason seems to be an acceptable gambit! ;-P)

Speaking for myself, I've not been "fond" of Ms Anderson, since her early beer ad, before the surgeons' knife touched her. Regarding her "chest," I've only a passing interest, but it's more of that of a chemical or structural engineering standpoint, not one of attraction. Frankly, to me she looks like she's been hit by a couple of Dan Marino spirals, and wasn't able to catch them with her hands!

When a woman meets me she knows immediately that woman wearing the pants will not work with me.

Yeah, I know a lot of married guys who think that way too... They wear the pants in the family. The problem is, their wives pick them out for them!

I’ll agree with you when you say that we are two totally different species. In my experience men want to feel needed and women need to feel wanted, having said that most women I know (myself included) do not act from the “logical” part of the brain, we act from the “emotional” part of the brain (I know, this is totally illogical:0).

And there’s another difference. Conservative women can actually catch a football, and throw a decent spiral too. :-)

What are women about? Well for one thing we tend to think guys are all the same, but we know what they are about.
If on the other hand one thinks all women are not the same, that is the beginning of wisdom, caterpillar.
Time to find one, fall in love, get married. After it goes sour you will meet a woman who will teach you that all women are not alike.
Then you can check off that question.

For my next post, a helpful hint...

Have you been under the teaching of Sheikh Jassem Al-Mut'awa who also says that women do not think before they speak? LOL. Well, I for one am grateful for a man who is logical and makes wise decisions. Even better is a wise man who makes decisions to provide the best for those under his covering.

Lol! THANK YOU!!! For being an honest enough woman to admait what it has taken Me years to understand. *smile* I do not make the distinction to demean the fair sex in any way, merely to illustrate what I have finally come to understand and what any woman knows at the most fundamental level. *grin* In My interactions with women (both dating and on the 'friendship' level) there are certain truths that have come forth, and now that I am beginning to understand them much more succintly I find that I understand women more than some feel comfortable with. *wince* I am glad that you are one of the ones that can honestly admit what a difference there is between the genders, as I believe that only with such an understanding can we form the lifelong bonds that we (or at least, 'I') aspire to.

Plus, I am having a lot more fun with the girls now that I understand where their impetus stems from. Not to mention making the occasional waitress blush, lol!

Now how to make the guys understand...

*smile*

I haven’t a clue ;-).

Right now I'm "about" remodeling the kitchen. I thought I'd left you plenty of "clues" over the past few months. Like the four major appliances stored in our living room.

Just read a book, “Freddy and Fredericka,” by Mark Helprin, that is mostly on the subject of the differences between men and women. I’m not sure that the author really answered it, since the question begins to be beyond human comprehension, but he wrote a beautiful book while trying.

Also, I am wondering if Helprin is a freeper, since at one point in the book a reference is made to “the loony Left.”

Best thought from the movie "My Fair Lady"- simply, 'Love Her, Love Her ...Love Her'.

That was "Camelot".

The "My Fair Lady" song was "Why Can't a Woman Be More Like a Man?"

Women regard a never-married man of mature years with deep suspicion. Mature years plus conspicuous devotion to his mother is doubly suspicious. Make that tenfold.
If he says his mother is deceased, especially if the death occurs at a tragically young age, he had better be able to prove it because plenty of women will consider this a bald-faced lie, at the head of an army of same.
Moreover, if he has never been married before age 40 or so, your typical woman reasons that he has been on the shelf for some 20 years and countless women have NOT selected him for a mate, and their collective wisdom is not to be dismissed lightly. Thirty years and he is all but radioactive. A deceased wife would be an advantage there, or a great fortune perhaps.
What do women want from a never-married man age 52?
A good explanation.

I did not make the comment to attempt in any way to demean the different way that women think compared to men. Merely to attempt to enlighten others on the different way we think. How women think is not necessarily a 'bad' thing, merely different from the logical thought processes we males undergo and therefore I was attempting to enlighten some as to the fundamental differences underlying our trains of thoughts.

As a matter of fact, now that I have a better understanding of how women think, My dates have become really spectacular and I have made more friends than I can count. I am not attempting to demean either method of thinking by any means, as one of the most popular topics of conversations I have nowadays is on the specific topic of HOW differently men and women think.

In fact, I know of one waitress that is SUCH a brat... but that is a topic for another time, lol!

Cheers!
