Los Angeles (AP) -- Immigration activists are calling for a repeat of last year's massive boycott and march that drew more than 1 million people to the streets in dozens of cities nationwide.
The so-called "Great American Boycott II" was being planned for May 1, organizers said Monday.
The first protest, which occurred May 1, 2006, temporarily shuttered businesses and schools across the country as people took to the streets in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami and other cities.
The boycott was fueled by anger over federal legislation that would have criminalized illegal immigrants and fortified the U.S.-Mexico border. The goal was to raise awareness about immigrants' economic power.

Isn’t May 1 “May Day” and is a Socialist holiday worldwide for showing ones power and parades and such?
How can it be the “Great American Boycott” when they are not Americans? It should be the “Great Illegal Alien Boycott.” Oh wait, that would be correct and the MSM would not cover it and make W look bad.
Boycott for the rest of the year. Refuse to work for two years!! Go back to you homeland and stay for three or more years!

But I already boycott every business that I know of that hires or bends over to do business with ILLEGAL ALIENS. I do it every day. May 1 is just another day.

And it worked so well last time. LOL
Round them up and send them home. These activists couldn’t provide a better way for Immigration Officers to find all the illegals. Another idea, would be to round them up and ship them to Nancy Pelosi’s door step.
Maybe THIS time we can round them up and ship them out!

They work below minimum wage. If this is good policy then the Democrats were dead wrong to raise the minimum wage this year.
Also illegal immigrants (really migrant workers) send billions of dollars home south of the border so that spending does NOT benefit our economy. The buying power is used elsewhere.
There are some proposals to put “fees” on wire transfers out of this country.
And I’m ALL for giving them their rights,with the first one being the right for them to go back to the country they belong in !!!
Defeat (W obviously not included as he can't be defeated and he doesn't care about his legacy, at this point might be just as well as he is in favor of giving away America to illegal aliens) any and all elected officials who vote to give this group anything at all other than a quick ride out of our country !
