I tend to agree with you, carton. An employee has the right to decide what is and what is not acceptable language for his/her employees. Standards are not the same thing as censorship. (Although, 'standards' should have had Imus suspended before this, IMO).

I find it disturbing how many find Imus' comments acceptable, or even amusing.

But it points to the degradation of our culture that comments that are indeed 'beyond the pale' are so widely accepted.

I, however, believe that ABC is negligent and irresponsible for letting Rosie O'Donnell get away with her anti-Christian rants. She should have been fired by her employers a long time ago.

There IS a double standard.

If I were ABC, I would have never hired Rosie... but Rosie's time is coming. She is also walking dangerously close to the edge of her own fine razor sharp sword. She will get cut to pieces on it.
