If this guy called either of my daughters a nappy headed ho, I'd simply laugh and continue contemplating my naval. My daughters are damn sure not defined by Don Imus, nor any other pinheaded radio/TV personality.
My girls would take no offense at the comment, nor the fact that I didn't go to battle over their dignity. Simply because their dignity isn't something Don Imus knows anything about.
If I heard a white man call my daughter a "nappy headed ho" I'd have no doubt in my mind that it was said in jest. Now if he called her a "nappy headed whore" I may pause for a moment, but only to conjure up what the hell he meant by "nappy." Afro hair, diaper head, sleepy head or Napoleon.
