Imus says specifically right after it’s said that it’s a reference to a Spike Lee film. He confuses it with Do the Right Thing though.

I saw both films and I think Spike Lee WAS one of the more creative filmakers who was not averse to taking risks.He seems to have wandered away from his roots lately.I didn’t even bother with trash like Girl 6 or that stupid lesbian film.
He needs to do more Crooklyns and Mo Betta Blues type films.Oh,and Jungle Fever was great too.
The correct film is “School Daze” and Spike did not write in “nappy haired hos” into the script.
Nappy hair does go up against straightend hair.
