Very astute observation. I thought similarly when I saw the story. I think MSNBC is being smart, I thought Imus was being smart asking for his punishment, too. Neither of them really care what people think, they're just turning lemons into lemonade.

However, this all could have been avoided if Imus had not done stupid.

Further, I resent Imus, and any one else, that makes statements like these. It reflects on me, a white man, and on society as a whole. It gives the "haters" more bs "proof" that ALL whites are racists.

It has nothing to do with being PC, I'm not. It has everything to do with respect and knowing the difference between what's right and what's wrong. It's just wrong to make denigrating racist remarks.

It's OK to be racist if you're a liberal. The left has to remain racist or they will lose power. That's why they attack Dr. Rice, J.C. Watts, Clarence Thomas, Janice Rogers Brown, Dr. Alan Keyes, Colin Powell, Roderick Raynor ("Rod") Paige, etc., because conservatism comes with education. The better educated you are, the less likely you will be a liberal.

The last census showed us several things:

• Only 1 in 4 Americans will get a Bachelor's degree or higher
• That 1 in 4 make up 90% of the American voters
• Per capita, the Black community is just about even with the White community in getting degrees in Higher education.

So, that tells the Left that they are about to lose most of the voting Black community. So if they allow people like Dr. Rice, J.C. Watts, Clarence Thomas, Janice Rogers Brown, Dr. Alan Keyes, Colin Powell, Roderick Raynor ("Rod") Paige to become role models to young black children, then they are going to follow in their foot steps, get degrees and become CONSERVATIVES!!! And their children are going to be more likely to be well educated making even MORE CONSERVATIVES!!!

The Left knows that politicians in this country "only dance with those who bung 'em" so when people like Jackson and Sharpton no longer have influence over the black voters, then the Left will have nobody but the moonbats. They will never be able to get power in this country again....unless they are able to get the illegal Hispanic community the right to vote.

So for now, they demonize every black conservative they can find, minimize their accomplishments and call them "sell-outs", "quota-fillers", and every racist name in the book, and they get away with it because they are "progressives" and their targets are Conservatives.

The clue is in the fact that it starts NEXT MONDAY. If it were a conservative, the suspension would be immediate, not next week.

They are giving Imus a week of mea culpa before going away for two weeks. That's plenty of time to prop him back up.

Besides, it's really all about the microphone. They don't want to lose access to his microphone.
