The Pelosicrats' Coup d'Etat ..... (Democrats telling our enemies that they should wait)

By the time Nancy Pelosi left for Syria, she had accumulated a hyper-liberal anti-war track record only Cindy Sheehan could equal. From the moment she was installed as speaker, she has run hard left. From attempting to get Jack “Cut and Run” Murtha (D.-PA) elected House Majority Leader over the liberal but still sane Steny Hoyer of Maryland to the current battle over the war supplemental appropriations bill -- which the House passed after inserting language that would force American withdrawal from Iraq by a date certain -- Pelosi has never deviated from the most radical position on the war.

Pelosi’s spokesman issued a statement that said, “As recommended by the Iraq Study Group, a bipartisan delegation led by Speaker Pelosi intends to discuss a wide range of security issues affecting the United States and the Middle East with representatives of governments in the region, including Syria.” Which is a curious statement given that the ISG recommended that the United States conduct such discussions and Pelosi has no authority to decide whether those talks would occur or represent the United States in them. (Pelosi should read, or have someone read to her, Article 2 Section 2 of the Constitution which empowers the president to make treaties, appoint ambassadors and otherwise conduct foreign policy.)

In Syria, meeting with its murderous thug President Bashar Assad, Pelosi said that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert asked her to deliver a message that Israel was ready to engage in peace talks with Syria. That was too much for even the somnolent Olmert who immediately rebuked Pelosi by issuing a statement that, “What was communicated to the US House Speaker does not contain any change in the policy of Israel.”

Leaving Syria, Pelosi delivered herself of the opinion that the talks were “very productive”

The liberal ,but still sane Steny Hoyer?/

Pelosi looks like the hunchback of Notre Dame with Steny Hoyer attached as the Hump.

He has become so close to her that if she makes a sudden stop he will end up with only his feet sticking from her butt.

Steny is a Clymer climber. I dont think he has a real thought of his own,the party does his thinking for him.

“Without bothering to win a presidential election, the Dems are trying to make separate deals, contrary to the president’s policies, with some of our most deadly enemies.”

This is because there has been a leadership vacancy in the White House for almost seven long years.

I still haven't calm down sufficiently enough to discuss this topic rationally.

Take a deep breath and look out your window at those beautiful, gorgeous views you have.

Then, imagine Washington D.C. as the cockroach capital of the world; and in one hand, you are holding a can of DDT spray.

They are literally trying to convert the speakership into a prime minister.

Just like the parties elect the prime minister in parliamentary governments they are going to the other nations saying that the speaker is reeeeeealy the USA’s prime minister and the presidency is really ceremonial.

the illiterates of the rest of the world buy it and the press spins it that way.

This is a scam to reshape the constitutional power structure by extending the opposition party to be a legally defined shadow government. (not conspiracy hat shadow, but a legal term of art)

I agree with everything you say.

Had there been some strong, unwavering direction from the White House, we wouldn’t be finding our country in this mess. Weakness is a red flag to the determined.

You are correct. Pelosi is beginning to look like our Prime Minister. And it’s looking like a shadow government, as you said, in “a legal term of art.” The Presidency is looking more and more ceremonial from the outside

President Bush should allow A.G. Gonzales to send the FBI to Capital Hill and put Pelosi in hand cuffs for her actions in Syria last week.

Agreed, but he doesn’t have the mettle.

I’m gone. I’ll be back.

This is because there has been a leadership vacancy in the White House for almost seven long years.

Meaning that 8 years of the clintonistas was leadership???

Pelosi has only been completely loyal to her supporters. Perhaps the Republicans should have tried that.

Posted by me, a 5-days old NEW American Citizen....

President Bush should allow A.G. Gonzales to send the FBI to Capital Hill and put Pelosi in hand cuffs for her actions in Syria last week.

That would have happened during President Abe Lincoln's tenure!!!

No. Reagan was leadership. Lincoln was leadership. Roosevelt was leadership.

A great leader has to know how to use the Bully Pulpit and Bush is unwilling or unable to even defend himseld against that Democrat disaster that was Katrina.

From Bull Run to Seven Days to Second Bull Run to Chancellorsville, Lincoln suffered defeat after defeat but had the lkeadership required to keep the Home Front focused on ultimate victory.

Bush has been given spectucular military victories on a scale etered in military history and the Home Front is now demoralized and has given the Copperheads control of Congress.

The only thing standing between America and a humiliating defeat is that the demoralized Home Front does not also give the White House to the Copperheads in November, 2008.

Congratulations!

I am a 5th generation Swedish American whose Great Grandfather immigrated through Ellis Island in the 1880’s with his wife and 4 daughters. I still have the Homestead Patent signed by President McKinley in 1900 for the 160 acre farm he settled in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Somehow after more than 100 years and 4 generations, my children are 100% Swedish American. Welcome to the USA!
