Well, certain risk factors will affect insurance premiums. I don’t know how the insurance industry deals with homosexual life expectancy. They may have other means to factor for the increased risk, such as medical history.
As for secondhand smoke- I should have qualified that. The initial excuse to meddle is the public good, but the goal is for the State to run your life since the elite are of course smarter than you and know what’s best for you.

I suspect that, out of fear of lawsuits, homosexuality is given a pass by the insurance industry.

I'm in agreement with you on this point.
