GOP reps say they were in Syria, but not with House Speaker Pelosi
Sun Times ^ | 04/08/07 | Robert Novak

Three Republican congressmen who visited Damascus three days before House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived were eager to disassociate themselves from the Democratic leader and make clear they did not even know she was going to Syria.

When President Bush assailed Pelosi for her Syrian mission, she noted that Republican Representatives Frank Wolf of Virginia, Joseph Pitts of Pennsylvania and Robert Aderholt of Alabama made the same journey. Some news reports gave the false impression that they all were on the same congressional delegation. While Wolf emphasized that he and his two GOP colleagues support Bush's Iraq policy, their mission to Damascus violated the president's policy, as did Pelosi's.

A footnote: Rep. Chris Smith of New Jersey was with Wolf, Pitts and Aderholt in Israel during the Easter recess and wanted to join them in Syria. He could not be added at the last minute.

Disappointing about Chris Smith, he is usually a stand up guy on conservative issues.

I personally don’t care if these RINOs were with Pelosi or not, they can all go to hell!

Interesting that Frank Wolf admitted that their trip went against Pres. Bush’s wishes. I didn’t read an apology though.

They SHOULD be charged under the Logan Act, whether conviction is likely or not. The president needs to reassert the Presidency, or he’s going to lose it for presidents to come.

Why? The Logan Act does not limit where a person travels but does regulate what a person does. It would be illegal for unauthorized citizens to negotiate with a foreign power without even leaving the country.

I’m really getting sick and tired of Conservatives shilling for the RINOs just because of votes. We lost the majorities and the only thing saving us is there are just enough honor left in the Senate and House to disrupt the liberal agenda but to lose a couple won’t matter as long as we have 145 in the House and 37 in the Senate who will stand tough. In other words, in the past we needed the RINOs to help pass legislation but we don’t necessarily need them to help block bad legislation.

Happy Easter to all FREEPERS!

So...what the hell are you doing except sitting in your comfortable chair? Have you written your Senators, Representatives, and the Justice Department? Have you demanded that they impeach that bitch! Pelosi has violated the Logan Act. Can you pick and choose which laws you will follow? Can you pick and choose which taxes you will pay? I know the Logan Act hasn't been used in 200 years. Well...I think it's about fuc$$$g time!

Americans can no longer rely on the no balls Senators or no balls Representatives to do what is right. They are all too afraid of the big bad media and loosing what little support they have. Little do they know it is what we are waiting for! Call their offices over and over and over, demand they uphold the Constitution as they were elected to do. Ask why you haven’t seen them on television voicing their anger at Pelosi’s actions. Ask why they haven't done anything, and don't take any bullsh$$ political answers. Yell, scream, holler, jump up and down until they listen! It is time to fight back.

It is time for all those Christians out there to quit turning the other cheek! “The meek will inherit the earth.” However, if Christians continue to sit back on their butts, what kind of earth will our children inherit? What will you tell your Grandchildren when they ask what you did to stop what’s happening? I live in a very rural community in very rural Kansas. No media, newspaper runs once a week, no television stations. However, I know a great many of you live in large metropolitan cities. Get to work!

I have written everyone I can think of. So call into every talk show, write editorials, and don't let up! Write President Bush and tell him it's time to use his bully pulpit to protect America and to tell Congress to get fuc#$$! He is the President and it’s about time to crawl out from under his desk and make as much noise as he can. Demand that he call for Speaker Pelosi’s resignation and prosecution. Hell, the RATS don’t hesitate for a minute to call for the resignation of everyone they can drag into the mud whether their guilty of anything at all. If we continue to sit back and do nothing, they will destroy America!

Sorry for the profanity, but I am fighting mad! GOD BLESS AMERICA (for as long as we can keep it)!

You can bet that the libtards are just waiting to see if there are any consequences for Pelosi’s shadow presidency. If she is not prosecuted for violating the Logan Act, then liberals are officially allowed to commit any crime that they want. We can’t let this happen. Write to your representative so congress knows that we want this felonious bitch punished.

Thank you! I keep reminding everyone I can that if we don’t get involved with what the Congress-Critters are doing, we can’t blame them for playing politics!! They are much like puppies and children - when they get to quiet, they are up to something....we have to watch, and voice our desires or they go off on some tangent we won’t like.

Thanks for the link, Rob. Sent my email to Carolyn Maloney (D)...doubt it will help but who knows—the Pantsuit may want her out of the picture and the Dems may be on board to help.

Seems to me though that Pelosi was trying to negotiate for Israel.

You never know, now that lib newspapers like the Washington Post are against Pelosi, we might even get some rats to call for Pelosi’s prosecution/resignation.
