Ft Worth Cam facing north....too bad qualifying is so late in the day....bad weather should be moving in by then.

One thing about Texas, everything has to have the Texas flag on it or be shaped like Texas. :)

The redistribution should be done like the IRS does it, with those with the least points (me) getting the VAST majority of the redistributed points.

From Jayski........

"Engines Dyno'd at Atlanta: NASCAR tested eight cars on the chassis dyno after the race to see if there is a measurable loss in power after a 500-mile race with the recent switch to unleaded fuel. Cars tested were those of winner #48-Jimmie Johnson, #20-Tony Stewart, #17-Matt Kenseth, #99-Carl Edwards, #42-Juan Pablo Montoya, #2-Kurt Busch, #22-Dave Blaney and #44-Dale Jarrett.(Roanoke Times), two fo each manuafacturer......no results were mentioned.(3-19-2007)

UPDATE: #44-Dale Jarrett's car topped the chart with 799 horsepower through the rear wheels. #17-Matt Kenseth's car was second with 798 horsepower, followed by the #99 (792 hp), #42 (788hp), #20 (787hp), #22 (787hp), #2 (786hp) and finally Sunday's winner, #48-Jimmie Johnson, whose car measured 779hp, but that was after his massive burnout on the frontstretch at AMS.(FoxSports)(3-23-2007)"

The first I've seen of any info about Toy dyno results.

DJ needs to get all those pony's going the same way.

Odd that they have hp.... but no setups I guess. Did you see the pics of MW wreck?

There will be 7 cars running the new Chevy engine this weekend....that should be interesting. I tried not to pick any of them in FRFL just in case. :)

Did something happen to Newman during First Practice?

Not sure, I know Crash lost an engine, but Newman’s numbers look funny on trackpass after only 3 laps. They cancelled practice, qualifying is iffy at best.

DAVID GRIFFIN / NASCAR SCENEBudweiser and Dale Earnhardt Jr. unveiled two military-themed paint schemes the Dale Earnhardt Inc. No. 8 Chevrolet will feature at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and Daytona International Speedway later this season.

Earnhardt Jr.’s car will feature a beige desert camouflage paint scheme for the May 27 Coca-Cola 600 Nextel Cup Series at Charlotte. The entry will feature a red, white and blue stars and stripes scheme for the July 7 Pepsi 400 at Daytona.

Budweiser officials say the company will donate proceeds from the sale of the two diecast collectibles to the Special Operations Warrior Foundations, which provide full college scholarships to surviving dependents of armed forces personnel killed in combat or training missions. The organization also provides financial assistance to special operations personnel severely wounded in combat.

Qualifying was postponed in order to get in a little more practice time since some teams didn’t get any this morning.

If the rain holds, qualifying will be at 6:30 pm.....probably central time.??

Drivers in RED will be required to qualify on time/speed, not in top 35

Drivers in MAROON will be required to qualify on time/speed, not in top 35
BUT has a past champions provisional available if needed, only one is used, so if there are two or more past champs
the driver who has won the championship most recently, gets the spot.

Quote of the day, from mattkenseth.com:
“After two weekends of struggling with the COT (Car of Tomorrow), it’s going to be a lot of fun getting back into the ‘old cars’ this weekend. It helps that we’re going to Texas, which is becoming one of my favorite tracks on the circuit. The track is fast and the groove is getting wider as the pavement ages, which means more room to race. The crowd is great and the fans are second to none. Eddie Gossage and his staff always do a really good job promoting the event and putting on a great show, and I always look forward to going there.

“It’s a night-and-day difference for me going from Martinsville, a track we always struggle at, with a car that gave us fits, to Texas, which is almost the exact opposite for me. That’s not to say we’re going to be good at Texas, although the car we’re taking has been pretty good so far this year, but it’s really going to feel good getting back into the old car, which will immediately handle 10 times better than what we’ve been driving the past few weeks.”

Any fool that doesn't have the 17 going Sunday doesn't deserve the redistributed points.
