I was listening to Sporting News Radio a bit ago...and they said the joke going around the pits was that Michael Waltrip now has more points on his North Carolina’s drivers license than in the Nextel Cup.

Grin...I had similar adventures when I was young and foolish. I wouldn't mind being young again, but not foolish anymore.

Re the beer and being relaxed, if the rumors are true, that's the same condition Michael Waltrip was in. He didn't crawl out of the car right away. The witness walked around looking for victims, then called 911. It was about that time that Mike crawled out of the back of the car. He said he was knocked out and came to upside down. He was in his socks, but had no shoes on. When the witness told him she called the cops, he just turned around and walked away. His home was about a mile down the road.

So there was Mikey, scratched up from the accident, walking down the road in his stocking feet in the wee hours. Then, like Ted Kennedy, he disappears for about 18 hours until the cops finally locate him. Is it any wonder the rumors are that he was DUI?

Big ouch!!! That one is definitely going to leave a mark. If he is drinking and spiraling out of control, no driver is going to want to race him anyway. Who knows, maybe this near-death experience will help knock some sense into him.

He may be a sensitive person. Some people are just more emotional than others, and maybe he takes things hard and is too hard on himself. He said he feels stupid about the wreck. I don’t know, but I think my first thought would be thank goodness I’m still alive! I hope he gets the support he needs. DW just said he thinks MW is realizing it’s hard being a driver and an owner, and it’s too big of a suitcase for him to carry. (As in, he needs to hire some help.)

BTW, the source for the Waltrip wreck photos is WCNC.com. Here's the link to the slideshow: http://www.wcnc.com/news/slideshows/0411-waltrip/manual/01.htm

The first pic was taken by the witness. The others are news pics.

Morning looks like a good day to race...

Did you cover this, this week? Looks like it'll be fun to see play out.

Help Us Wax Smoke!
$100,000 Fundraiser For Victory Junction Gang Camp

During the Daytona 500 pre-race show, Tony Stewart held up a photograph of Ronald McDonald that had been altered so it appeared that Kevin Harvick was wearing Ronald's suit.

Now, those of you who are familiar with Kevin know that he does not let a practical joke go unanswered. So here is Kevin's retort:

Kevin's new colors may indeed be similar to those of Ronald McDonald, but have you seen Tony Stewart's chest and back? Because Tony is such a great guy, he has offered up a solution to his follicle issues.

Tony said on his SIRIUS satellite radio show, Tony Stewart Live, that if someone would raise $100,000 for charity, he would wax his chest and back. Who are we to pass up an offer like that? Call it "revenge for the Ronald McDonald photo," call it a great opportunity to raise money for Victory Junction Gang Camp or just call it plain funny. (Think Tony will scream like a girl when they rip all that hair out?)

Visit
Happy's eSHOP and make your donation. You can donate in increments of $1.00, $5.00, $10.00, $25.00, $50.00 and $100.00. Every penny collected in "Operation: Wax Smoke" will be donated to Victory Junction Gang Camp. We will be accepting donations until we reach our goal.

Tell all your friends, and tell their friends to tell their friends. $100,000 to get us to put Tony Stewart in a salon chair, cover his chest and back with hot wax, place wax strips on it and rrrrip the hairs right out. Good times!

Once we reach our $100,000 goal, and Tony is ready to go under the wax, we’ll give you all the details of when and where it is happening.

Okay, fans, now the serious part. We want to tell you a little bit about Victory Junction Gang Camp so you can understand that your money isn't just for laughs, but is also benefiting an amazing facility that has touched - and continues to change - countless lives.

Founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of their late son, Adam, Victory Junction Gang Camp serves as a retreat for children with serious illnesses. Offering a wide range of activities such as boating, horseback riding and theater, the camp strives to give its visitors fun and memorable experiences. Victory Junction also provides advanced medical care at its state-of-the-art facilities so children receive the same quality of care while visiting the camp that they would at home. All of this is provided at no cost to the families.

Victory Junction is funded solely on donations from businesses, individuals and charitable foundations. Kevin Harvick Inc. is currently a Corporate Sponsor of the camp. Additionally, Kevin's websites conduct numerous fundraisers throughout the year, such as merchandise auctions, with proceeds benefiting Victory Junction. Kevin's fans have always been extremely generous, and we are very appreciative!

When will someone tell the NASCAR teams how to show the proper respect to the National Anthem? I love NASCAR but get sick when I see the pit crews, etc stand around while someone sings the National anthem.
