Here post 12. OMG look at it.........there will never be qualifying I just hope there isn’t going to be damage.
Jamaica mon!! Wow, should be nice and warm after all the snow you got.
Almost all that snow is gone now, though temps are still below average. Guess calling for a warm welcome for Jumpin’ Jim Cantore didn’t work as well as calling for it (a day late) for his storm-surge-dodging buddy Mike Seidel.
I was sure I saw them all huddled there in Milwaukee waiting for the big one!
Qualifying washed out, Mikey will only get to wreck 1 Toyota this weekend, while McVickers and The Big Brown Truck get breaks.
Here are practice speeds in the afternoon run.
Here's the first 10 lineup for Sunday.
Methinks it’s a good thing they called it off. Tornado warnings are out just west of the track as well as to the south, and the track is currently under a severe thunderstorm warning.
Won’t be goin’ to Texas, but will be at The Altamont in N CA to watch our SIL drive in his 2nd race day. He’s driving a Honda Civic that he’s been working on through the winter.
Last weekend, he managed to get an 8th place finish in his first race and a 2nd place finish in the finale.
Oh, and on a totally different racing note, I spotted a car the other night sporting personalized plates - JR8 SR3.
I feel sorry for the folks that are out there.
A lot of them camp outdoors.
If I had been feeling better I was going up today for qualifying and to see the Dale movie. Also couldn’t find a hotel room anyway even two months ago.
Looks like we’re gonna get hit too.
Apparently according to our weather lady there was a tornado just north of Ft Worth.
Good luck to him in his racing. :)
I like that plate, I wonder if it’s taken here. Hmmmmm.
Stay safe, and that goes for everybody at the track too. Don't take Awesome Bill's advice and just strap yourself into your race car.
Speaking of "ugly", you might want to listen to this week's Bob and Brian interview of Matt (usually done on Thursdays, but done today because of a scheduling conflict).
Weather was not as bad at the track as in Ft Worth and Dallas. The drivers and wives were sent to the infield care center when the sirens sounded. The fans were sent to the bathrooms.........yuck.
We just went under tornado watch here.
Michael Waltrip has been robbed again............ and will set another race out. (/s)
Just heard on TWC that Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport had a storm move through that dumped 2” hail.
A little late but here is a thread on the storm. I may not have been kidding when I told South Texas to look out for rattlesnakes in the grandstands at TMS...
