The real reason behind the Dems opposition to the Iraq War lies buried in those documents that have yet to be translated. Notice how quickly the Dems jumped on an alleged security breach to have the document website shut down. And of course Negroponte was more than willing to comply.

I wonder about Negroponte myself. As a career State guy, I wouldn't think of him as exactly favoring a robust pro-American foreign policy, and that attitude wouldn't be great in other departments, either.
I am trying, however, to be fair about him, as there are people in State who managed to escape the leftist brainwashing (John Bolton being example #1).
So much in government is simply mystifying to me. Some things I think we will never understand.

Brilliant catch here! Other than Iraq trying to build a nuke bomb with NK and Qaddafi, there are lots of reasons we are there. Not the lest is Ok. City and Sadaam's mock 707's where he trained terrorists how to fly.
The msm has a nasty little habit of not looking into anything that makes their side look like the liars they are.

Negroponte is a lifelong diplomat...he would not want those documents to “stir anything up”..like most diplomats.
