Newt’s talents would be wasted in some lame Cabinet no offense or anything but Newt is a battler of idea’s and deep thinker his talents should go were it could help the party and the movement the most

I don’t think that is possible, he cold always find some way of getting out of it. Unless Evita told him to go there to cover for her sedition with Assad, and he figured it could do no harm since she was making the big blunder. I am sure Steny has all the Video and blackmail he needs on Evita the ugly Burka Queen.

None of us are completely happy with what we got from GW,his lack of stance on the border, budget and constant failing to stand up for himself and others when necessary are all facts that continue to plague us no end.

From my standpoint I use these acts about him to help choose another yet stronger conservative who will be even more strident in the areas we are now weak in.

We have several conservatives that could fill the bill from Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter and others. Are any of them perfect, probably not and as you say the key is not to destroy ourselves or even provide ammo to the rats who will surely use everything we do provide against us sooner or sooner.

Having said all that and realizing we need a conservative as our candidate we also have to juggle the fact that we don't want the Dems getting in at the top for any reason whatsoever.

Were we to find ourselves in a position of having a dem potus and congress the future of the country for the next few years would be bleak indeed.

He will never go back to Congress. He messed up his leadership role after he was so wonderful getting there and slunk out of Congress like he was a Serial Murderer.

That is what I think also, and the Pubbie base has been waiting for a huge fight, and there will never be one that is more important for our Democracy/Republic. The Rats have really frightened not just the pubbies but Democrats also, and we need to push forward now while it is still in our minds. Remember the short attention span of the American People.

rodguy, how I’ve felt about this is this.....

The Demos have acted like a pack of wolves surrounding a wounded injured prey, and
have attacked as one unit in synchronized movement against that prey.

The Repubs have acted like a school of bait fish, when any disturbance to the norm happens
they scatter in all directions until the disturbance has passed only to return to the
school and act as if nothing has happened, and no retaliatory actions are taken.

Rather disturbing I’ve been donating my hard earned $$$’s to these
weak kneed nancy boys who cower when confronted by these disgusting dems.

I know exactly how you feel about Newt. Long ago I surmised that Newt has that agonizing 80/20 thing going. 80% of the time yo just want to bow down to his brilliance and the other 20% you just want to kick his ass for the stupid things he comes up with.

Agree 100%, to continue the percentage thingy <g>

I know I would vote for him for President over any of the Dhimmicrats and in our primary over several of the announced candidates, Tancredo for one.  However, I also don't think he has a chance of becoming president and he would be a drain on a ticket as VP.

I hate the notion, however, of letting that brain go to waste.  What position could he fill in a Republican administration, say a Fred Thompson admin, that would be appropriate?  State is right out and I can't see him for Defense.  He's not someone the markets would take to for Treasury and there'd be no point for Agriculture or Interior (though he might actually be good at that one).  Commerce, Labor, Veterans Affairs are also not good fits.  But that leaves several

He's always been an "outside the box" type with Health and Human Services.  He could be very interesting there.  Housing and Urban Development would also give him a chance to try innovative things that might actually make things better and cost less in the long run.  Think of what he would do with a city like New Orleans, for example.  Here's a very interesting piece on his web site on the subject, Why New Orleans Needs Saving.   Transportation, Energy and Education also would probably be very good fits.

I'm not sure about Homeland Security.  What that needs at this point is a good administrator.  From Tom Delay's book it's clear that's one thing Newt is not.  But I guarantee you that he'd bring some interesting and probably very effective ideas to that particular monstrosity of bureaucracy.  It's truly a Frankenstein's Monster of agencies, none of which are truly meant to work together.  The cultures are just too different.

Some form of advisory role to a President Thompson might also be interesting.  Perhaps heading the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. It's at least interesting to think about. And it might keep him out of trouble. I believe Fred could convince a grizzly bear to behave, if he put his mind to it.

If FNC cares at all about the viewers who made them what they are Wallace will be gone,if not FNC will slowly become part of the DBM.

Newt as we have already figured out is a wild card and completely unpredictable.

and as far as the dems go, since they stand for nothing except get GW all the time. It's only reasonable that they start trying to take out our guys, anyone who looks like he might be a player sooner or sooner.
