Nice photo (yawn).

Every mayor of every big US city has to have that picture taken. But when you’re president you see the bigger picture.

The way the 2nd Amendment works in this country won’t change one iota under a Giuliani administration.

Anyhow, my work is done here. Break up the Rudy bashing party, at least for a few minutes. Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

You mean, it will still be the poor stepchild of the bill of rights? There's a ringing endoresement of Giuliani.

In the strictest sense of the term conservative..Rudy may indeed qualify for the label. Conservatism is defined as the defense of existing institutions that have historically shown tangible benefit to society. His fatal flaw in his reading of the second amendment however shows me that his defense of constitutional institutions is shaky at best. The Constitution of The United States is an American Institution unto itself. It is as important to our free society as our military institutions, our schools and our Churchs, ect., which I do believe Rudy will support and defend, and whose task it is to mold a moral society by persuasion in a free market of ideas.

That said, I believe Rudy’s reading of the 2nd amendment indicates an unhealthy statist impulse in him. I wonder what other parts of the constitution he wrongly interprets. Conservatism should instill a sense of history, if not morality, into one who adheres to its principals. I just don't see that in Rudy so much as I see a power hungry hedonist...one worse then Big Brother...more like Big Daddy.

And the issue of morality aside, even with an implicit right to privacy written into the constitution, how does a privacy right allow for a women to commit abortion on a fetus. Ron Paul is right...almost all societies throughout time have celebrated life from it’s conception. Splitting the definition of life into trimesters is foolish and indefensive...and RoevWade was a embarrassingly poorly decided case at the USSC level.

And the idea of taxpayer funding for abortion? We have enough unconstitutional taxpayer funded programs already.

I can't vote for him. His ideas and opposition to citizens owning necessary implements for self protection and his propensity to be a authoritative controlling government figure make him dangerous in any position of power. Social issues aside, the classical liberal will not support him. A Rudy win in the GOP primaries will put a democrat in the White House. I don't understand your rationale for voting for him.
