I'm trying to figure out the logic of that statement, please help me. Does this mean that in the 1980 presidential campaign, a conservative might have supported Carter on the theory that tax rates would not have gone any higher than they were at the time? Or that appeasement of the Soviets would not have gotten any worse if Carter was reelected? Might one have supported Gore in 2000 on the theory that all of the bad things of Clinton would not have gotten any worse?
You might be right that no more guns would be grabbed under Rudy than they are now. I just don't see that as the positive statement that you do, unless of course you think tha the amount of guns being grabbed now is the right amount.
