Look, I am anti-Rudy for prez (although I thought he was a good Mayor). But criticizing him for being on the liberal party line is incorrect. Over time, the liberal party line became somewhat a classically liberal party line. It was liberal, but not socialists. It also reject race-based politics. It was entirely appropriate for Giluliani to accept the liberal party line when running against Dinkins, the socialist race hustler. FWIW I live in NY from 1991-1995.
