McGurk was comparing the two teams as the two were compared in the movie.
The media are scum. Knowing Imus's show that would be perfectly in bounds for what he does. Its like when Rush made a comment about the NFL being like the bloods vs. the crips ESPN freaked (and he didn't work for ESPN) Wilbon and Kornhieser called him a race baiter blah blah. I didn't hear the comment firsthand but the next day Rush explained what he had said. He made a comment about players doing stupid things on the field because they feel they were disrespected and it cost their team 15 yards (specifically the SD/NE game). The bloods and the crips are a good comparison and I don't know who else he could have used. Plus these are off the cuff. The point was that ESPN didn't explain it, they just railed. Peter KIng wrote an article which said "This years election will have a woman and a person of color running for President. Rush could you please base your criticism of them on their action and not their gender or color."
Rush replied "I do Peter and always have but I will try to do better if you wont point out the color of every QB in the league and base you're criticisms on that."
