Are you kidding? 1994 til today is a plenty good sample to find out what Newt's all about....doncha think? Or don't you?
It would be funny if the moderator began the debate with “What makes either of you think you’re qualified to debate this topic?”
you are probably right but as GW is just PC and socialist/ globalist politics it could at least be fun to watch Newt destroy Kerry with common sense! We dont need a science expert as this garbage is not science! And the dummies who have never even listened to Newt because of the MSM bias may have a thought or two penetrate!
Hope the situation is not as gloomy as you seem to feel! I believe that there is still a chance for common sense to prevail at least in the USA over this transparent power and money grab!!
What are they going to do when the subject of Cow Flatulence comes up as a major cause of Global Warming?
I’d like to think that- but we’re already seeing states introducing mandatory fines and regulations to ‘attone ofr our sins’- Cali has a measure on the board trying to punish 6 car manufacturers in a lawsuit for ‘contributing to global warming’ and other states are levying fines already for compnaies’ carbon impacts’ on the environment. the UK has stated charging extra for peopel from other countries who fly there because of the increased carbon output hte planes produce getting htem there. As you can see- the potential for money grabbing is huge huge huge- and the dems are pushing like mad trying to get a piece of the pie already. It will only get worse and more viscious as their little cash cow is called into question with actual scientific facts that dispute our contributions to GW
Yes, I think you are right, he was a history major, but I heard Newt on the radio say he used to teach earth science, implying he was well armed for debate with Carry — that all I know.
Unfortunately, I agree. I say 'unfortunately' because although I have tremendous respect for Newt's intellect and some of the things that he's done, he also has done and said some things that just make me want to walk away from him. As an example, a few years ago he came to Washington State, where I live, and spoke at a Republican event. Of course I had to go and see him, and he was going along fine, speaking about the current themes of the day when, in order to make a point about Social Security he asked what appeared to be a random child in the audience to come up onto the stage. He asks the kid how old he is and then uses that kid and his age as a prop for his speech about Social Security and how little the kid will have when he grows up. The way it was done was, to my eyes, terribly phony in that it was taking a subject pertaining to facts, numbers and economics and turning it into an emotional one, just as the Dems do with any of their "for the children' speeches. The kid was just standing there up on the stage with Newt occasionally gesturing at him, and it all looked so wrong. The episode suggested to me that although he has a brilliant mind, he is also an opportunistic person and will reach for low-class emotionalism and sensatiionalism when the mood strikes him, if he thinks that it will help to make an impression.

Agreed.....the statement utilizing the term will be run as an endless soundbite by Kerry's adoring media fans and will be used to frame Kerry as the 'winner', regardless of his inability to put forth a coherent argument.

The Dems have turned it into an emotional, religious issue and so to them and to the media, science is nearly irrelevant in the discussion.
Because Kerry and Newt are both opportunists in this context, they are exploiting the political nature of the matter.
Neither Kerry, algore or any of the other Dem politicians who are pushing Global Warming will publicly debate a dissenter from the scientific community, and so the whole matter is reduced to this sort of idiotic political theater.
And ultimately it will benefit the Dems because the media will portray Newt as "mean" and "uncaring" once again, and so because this Global Warming stuff is all an emotional and religious issue it will end up with more sheeple voters on the Dem side.
He could. Whether he will or not is up for grabs. Newt has a pathological need to be liked, so he may well succumb to an early piece of kerry flattery like Jack Kemp did in his pathetic debate with Algore in 96. The result will be a daft concession on some critical argument that by the end of the debate will have vitiated his position.
Climate change is a scientific issue not a political one... (Repeat three times a day, as needed)
I know what you mean, but I’m uncertain who would “moderate” his image? The media? Fat chance!
Best to just wipe the floor with Jean Francois and give conservatives more reason to overlook his baggage.
I’m not a tremendous Newt fan, but I heard him on Hugh Hewitt recently and the guy is very, very smart!
If LongJohn incurs a wound during the debate, will he put in for another Purple Cross?
I wonder which facts skerry will make up this time?
Wrong end...
