The rep party has no right to anyone’s vote. And many of us will not vote for someone as liberal as Rino Rudy.

That’s great, problem is no matter which candidate you pick they all have an Achilles heel of some sort, so do we rule them all out or look at the totality of each candidate?

I believe that you are stating a fact. Rudy is pushing the envelope. Actually, he's playing with fire. A Conservative can be excused, IMHO, for registering shock at some of Giuliani's positions. I don't see how Rudy can reconcile his present stands on abortion, Second Amendment etc. issues with the most recent Pub party platform. Many of us have obviously been saying this for some time; however, the stunning aspect of the situation is Giuliani's apparent failure to recognize, for whatever reason, the Pub schism that his stands are creating.
Fred Thompson has stated that Roe vs Wade is bad law... Duncan Hunter wants a border fence...Yes, these are points that might disturb some GOP moderates, but it is difficult to imagine that these stands would cause them to sit out an election or vote third-party. At present, I can only conclude that Rudy is content to run on his NYC mayoral performance, admittedly a plus, in the hopes that moderates from both parties will push him over the top. Nevertheless, I don't think that this will be enough to get him the nomination if a strong candidate, perhaps Fred Thompson, enters the race.
Giuliani and his brain trust are currently mesmerized by his celebrity status fueled poll numbers. However, IMHO, unless he is able to arrive at more conservative positions on crucial issues, Rudy is in trouble.
