Henry Fonda was a lifelong Democrat. However, he also served in the Navy for three years, during WW2, initially as a Quartermaster 3rd Class on the destroyer USS Satterlee; later, Fonda was commissioned as a Lieutenant Junior Grade (O-2) in Air Combat Intelligence. For his service in the Central Pacific, he won the Bronze Star.

This was back when you could be a democrat and still appreciate where you lived.

Thanks for the info. I have to give credit to Henry Fonda for that.

I will say that many of the Democrats of the 40’s were every bit as leftist as the modern ones. More patriotic, though, alot of them.

Reflecting on Jane Fonda, I think she inherited some of her father’s courage. ‘Course, she seems to be a traitorous fool as well.
