Who is Arnold Schwarzenegger, really? According to Joe Knollenberg, a Republican congressman from Michigan, he's "kind of a Republican Al Gore." That's what Knollenberg told Fox News' Neil Cavuto on Tuesday night.
What's Knollenberg's beef? The congressman represents a district north of Detroit. Among his constituents are the Big 3 automakers. The Big 3 are feeling pretty nervous these days -- on Wednesday the chief executives of GM, Ford and Chrysler appeared before the House Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality to lobby against tighter fuel economy (CAFE) standards.
Knollenberg has decided to carry their water -- by attacking California. He spent $10,000 of his own money to put up a billboard on I-75 that reads "Arnold to Michigan: Drop Dead." Schwarzenegger's efforts to mandate higher fuel economy standards, says Knollenberg, will cost the U.S. auto industry $85 billion. The ecofascist California liberal must be stopped!

Well.. That's exactly the way all of rural/red voting America has been treated ever since another RINO Governor of CA (Earl Warren) lead the SCOTUS to rule that "Cows Don't Vote!" (aka "One Man, One Vote!)

That doesn't mean he can avoid his just deserts, or your deserved wrath, but do give him some credit. I prefer him any day to our little, liberal, Republican cheerleader who scurries around in the shadows.
For the credit he is due, fine but he could have done a lot more and didn’t and still won re-election and had greater sway in moving the state back rightward, but I also find it hard to believe the dems could outspend him, even as he has tied the hands of his own party to a great degree to rein in his other agenda items which only further erode the turn-out of a lot of good decent folks that used to look to the CA GOP for leadership and a sane direction and not one of “Post-Partisanship” and piles of debt like none ever seen before.
