DeLeon has said he was compelled to author the bill after a gang member's stray bullet struck 9-year-old Charupha Wongwisetsiri in the head while she and her mother were in the kitchen of their Angelino Heights home last Dec. 20. What would be nice to see is if semiauto manufacturers just refused to sell to California- including the police!
That aside, imagine if the cops pick up brass from a crime scene that has been reloaded a few times, or has been picked up from a public range and dropped.
You are going to go after some guy because he was shooting at Sharpshooters in Torrance and someone scooped his brass?
New revolvers are exempt- gee, do you think people will buy revolvers if semis are not as available? Revolvers don’t drop brass unless the shooter wants to.
