Given that we have not seen a similar story about John Edwards, John Kerry (who served in Vietnam), or Hillary, why is this so important that it should come out? I would hazard a guess that it was not meant to make the candidate look good to his base, or to those who were considering supporting him. No, quite the opposite. We expect candidates from the left to shade the truth. How well they can do so is a resume enhancement, at least the MSM liked how well Bill Clinton did it. But they expect that conservatives are put off by the slightest imperfections, so why not dig. If you haven’t found any imperfections, you haven’t been on the job for very long.

While I am not a Romney supporter, shall we compare this, shall I say, discrepancy, with Hillary’s faux cluelessness about the billing records of the Rose Law firm?

I am sure that Freepers have quite a list of Hillaryisms to post.

As I wrote of Rudy, if Romney wants to make a crystal clear statement about his position on the Second Amendment, let him enroll in a CCW class, get some range time (preferably w/pix of him properly shooting a firearm like Schumer famously tried to do), and get a CCW permit. Then say that everyone who qualifies, should go through the process.

Opps, Romney is from The People’s gun-unfriendly Republic of Mass. Is this even possible for him?

Well, he could get a Florida permit which is good for 5 years in most of the states that honor out of state permits.
