Ultimately, it's a constitutional right, and therefore if it's a constitutional right, ultimately, even if you do it on a state-by-state basis, you have to make sure people are protected,

I thought he was commenting on public financing only, not to argue that point, but clearly he feels there's a Constitutional right to abortion.

That was the first statement.

Rush followed up with another where the reporter asked him if he supported federal funding of abortion.

His argument was IIRC that since it’s a right, and since the woman would be without means, that they’d have to find a way to make that happen.

I imagine that would be over the objections of his “strict constitutionalist” judicial appointments. /sarcasm
