Oh, good Heavens, don’t ever let them think you have to fight for freedom...it comes free with no sacrifice as long as you’re nice to other people and hug trees on a regular basis. And, please, don’t ever let them see the raising of the flag over Iwo Jimo in a text book.

When the enemy gets here because people like these won’t fight for their own freedom, I hope I get to see their heads role before they take mine.

People like this burn me up.

My father fought for our freedom (along with 4 of his brothers) in the infantry in WWII. His sister’s husband flew Corsairs in WWII and Korea.

I proudly served my country for 20 years in the Navy.

My sister’s husband served in the Marines, as did their oldest daughter’s husband.

I have an ancestor on my Dad’s side who was a privateer in the War of 1812.

One of my Mom’s ancestors fought with Nathan Bedford Forrest.

My Dad’s side of the family has been in this country longer than it has been a country (late 17th century).

I will gladly give my life for my country, but not before taking as many of the enemy as I can.

“No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country, he won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for HIS country” (Patton)

I despise people like this. If they had their way, the country would be emasculated and anyone could just walk right in and take over.

“Real Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser!” (Patton)

I am not a proponent of war. War is terrible (Sherman said “War is hell”) but sometimes war is necessary.

One last quote: “It is a good thing war is so terrible, or we should grow too fond of it.” (Robert E. Lee, after viewing the carnage of the battle of Fredericksburg)
