Romney Week in Review
April 5, 2007
This week, Governor Mitt Romney announced that his campaign raised an astounding $23 million from the first quarter of 2007, more than any of his opponents in the Republican primary . With contributions from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., the strength of Governor Romney’s early fundraising effort demonstrates that his message of change in Washington through innovation and transformation is resonating with people across this country.
His strong showing in today’s Zogby poll in New Hampshire that places Governor Romney at 25% and tied for first in the field is one more indicator of Mitt’s surging momentum.
Unwilling to rest on his laurels, Governor Romney had an aggressive schedule of television apperances this week, including CBS’ Early Show, NBC’s Today Show, and ABC’s Good Morning America on Tuesday morning, Fox News’ Big Story with John Gibson on Tuesday evening, and an exclusive interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Wednesday night. Watch all the highlights and don’t miss Mitt’s 2008 candidate word association game!
Governor Romney also held his first “Ask Mitt Anything” public forums in Derry, New Hampshire and Urbandale, Iowa. “Ask Mitt Anything” events are an opportunity for local residents to ask the Governor questions in a town hall or tele-town hall about his policies, ideas and vision for meeting a new generation of challenges.
But because most Americans can’t make it to Derry or Urbandale, we’ve launched a new “Ask Mitt Anything” channel on Mitt TV where you can watch Mitt answer unscripted, unfiltered questions from these events. We’ve already released videos on the national debt, immigration, energy policy, foreign relations, and the right to life.
Finally, the campaign launched it’s newest television ad, “;I Like Vetoes,” which highlights Governor Romney’s pledge to bring fiscal discipline back to Washington.
Governor Romney has proposed capping non-defense discretionary spending at inflation minus one percent and will veto any budget that exceeds that amount. Make sure to watch it on Mitt TV now ... early primary voters will be soon!
The new "Ask Mitt Anything" channel on Mitt TV will be a great addition to the video library.
