Thirty-six-year-old Jason Darrow was seven times over the legal alcohol limit for drivers of commercial vehicles.

This isn't a particularly useful fact when the reporter doesn't tell us what the legal limit is in this case. I doubt that it's 0.08. It's probably considerably lower.

DUI Law Utah
http://www.dui-help.com/dui-utah.html

The legal limit is 0.04% or 40 mg/dL for commercial truck drivers.

0.02% is the limit for haz-mat drivers. Of course, this idiot will now be refered to as a former driver, as the punishment is far greater for commercial and haz-mat drivers.

UHP says Darrow was driving in the westbound lanes above the speed limit...

Which, out that way, could be as high as 75!

IIRC, it is .04 and if he was over 7 times that he may have been driving during a ‘black out’.

But I doubt it since he tried to run away. If he could function that coherently at that level of intoxication he must have built up one heck of a tolerence.

Wow. I’m surprised they even have a limit. I woulda guessed it was zero tollerance. After all, this is their job and they are on the clock. No one else is allowed to show up for work buzzed.

Troopers say it's amazing that there was no leak of any kind. The propane trailer pup flipped onto the median then knocked dirt and debree into the roadway of oncoming traffic.

Nice spelling and editing job. Idiot journalists.

I have a feeling that the judge isn’t going to be a soft-sell on this one.

No, even great lawyering is unlikely to help him, and he’s unlikely to have even that.

I think the 0.04% has been the standard set by US DOT for any commercial transportation. Other cases are more stringent. I have heard that some parts of the North Slope (Alaska) have effectively zero tolerance on alcohol.
